I remember in the two years I was around murphy he would randomly throw shoes just before he's due! Sometimes only getting them half off and leaving me to pull it for him

Murph had his feet done today, and got some new shoes on
I didn't want him to go another day without exercise(he was off for a bit because of the throwing-of-the-shoe issue), so I lunged him for a bit today. It was so warm! Wish I could have lunged him later on tonight(when it's cooler), but I had to leave. He was a good boy, but very lazy I would be too.
He's going to be dewormed again in the next few weeks, and we're getting a new saddle pad for the show
We've got a new shipment of HAY! It's from NB, and it's 90% Timothy, and 10% Alfalfa. It's really good stuff. We've got enough to last us (hopefully) until next April. They're pretty much getting free choice 24/7 hay until they're FAT.

I finally got to ride my boy today! He was so hyper.
We did some wtc and a couple small crossrails. He was loving the exercise and attention. He's gained A LOT of weight. Especially since I haven't been burning any calories off him in the last week or more. Working four jobs sure keeps me busy
He was used in a couple lessons, so he wasn't a veggie.
I also brought my friend Tracy with me. She used to ride with me at Meg's, and hadn't even met Murph yet, so she got on him for 15 or 20 minutes and did some w/t/c on him.
After we were done, I hosed him off and shampooed his legs. Boy didn't he love that! I would have liked to hose myself off too, but I had to get in the car and drive home, so .. couldn't really do that.
I got some pics on my friend's camera, so whenever she sends them, I'll upload a few of them.

We're pretty excited about the show next weekend!

Murph is a super star He used to love the shows at Rainbow because it meant a lot of fun for him. He loves getting all dolled up!

Yup he's 21.

So Murph and I entered the show this past weekend, and had a blast!
We went in:
-the warm up class (2')
-Avalon hunter division
-Jr. A equitation division
-Novice Hack division

-Novice line division

We got fourth in halter, and fifth in showmanship.
Other than that, I can't remember what I got in what classes, but we got two seconds, 2 fourths, and 2 fifths, and a couple reserves in all the rest.

I'm so proud of Murphy! He did wonderful.

Rode my boy today! He was good. I thought he would by hyper 'cause I hadn't ridden him in a little while, but my good friend/rider Amanda took him out for a spin for me! And he wasn't hyper. Amanda's horse turned up lame a week or so ago, so I told her to go ahead and give Murph man a little exercise.
As you probably have seen in the pics, I put Murph in a couple jumping classes in the show! He did wonderful, and really loved it, but I won't be jumping him anymore this year. Maybe next year we might pop over a couple more, but that's it! He's getting old, and I don't want to risk hurting him. I care about him too much He's my BABY.

Not long ago, we decided we might start turning Murphy out with the horse that he seemed to be getting along with the most. Skittles. Skittles decided to get playful with Murph, and Murph ended up with some hair rubbed off the point of his hock, but that's okay now. Sooo... today, while being turned out alone, but by Ginger, he decided since the hair is growing back there, he should go get another piece of hair rubbed off. It's like, 2 inches away from his hock, on the same leg. Oh my. Silly ponies! I sould re-name him patches.

He's due to have his feet done again soon. woot. His feet are weird. He has thin soles, like Donna, and his front feet grow a LOT faster than his back feet. Haha, weirdo.
And he's also due to have his teeth done. It's such a pain in the arse trying to get the vet out to do his teeth. It's either she's out here, and I don't know, or I can't get ahold of her, or .. blah blah blah. Anyways, I hope to get his teeth done soon, and hopefully it'll help more with him gaining weight... which is coming along beautifully by the way

Murphy looks great.... I can't wait to come see you guys again. I didn't make it to see the show cause i was busy workin. Im not gettin that horse i was gonna buy cause the place i was gonna keep him for the winter is not available anymore. Im gonna keep my money and maybe get a horse next year instead. Anyhow i'll try to make it in to see you soon.

Might as well update, eh?
You probably might have already read that I had Murphy's feet done not long ago (last Sunday I think it was?) and his soles are soft, but that's under control now.
My schedule in the last week was HORRIBLE so I haven't been able to ride, but today was the last day for one of my jobs(gift shoppe closes for the season) so hopefully now I'll have more time to ride! I think I'm going to spend some time with my boy tomorrow and give him some TLC to make sure he knows mom hasn't forgotten about him
His teeth were checked by the vet and she said his teeth are fine and she'll check them again next spring.
