what a handsome man The story is that his parents were both really dark (bays or blacks? I forget) and his breeders were certain that they would get an equally dark horse...and instead they got a motely chestnut with funny white spots- hence "Murphy's Law"

Haha, that's cute Murph and I are still just doing w/t/c, circles, bending, and flyings. Anyone wanna give us something new to do? lol I was thinking about throwing some trotting poles in there, and maybe do some broken lines, and serpintines. Here's some pictures of the "new girl" Tink (the one that threw me off [read first page])

O andrea he looks Amazing Do you love his self cleaning socks!?!? And yup Gill is right about his name the other part of the story was that they belived murphy would be a filly (something to do with the studs history of giving fillies!) Imagine expecting a dark bay/bay filly and out pops a chesnut colt with random white patches! Keep up the great work with him..he looks soo happy!!!

Haha! Oh man, what a goin' on there was about his white socks! People were all mad because their horses would go out and come back in with dirty socks and Murph would come in with perfectly white socks. Hahaha.

Murph is still doing wonderful! He's finally started on Regenrex and Apple Cider Vinegar. His feeds were once again bumped up. We had some bad hay there not too long ago, and all the horses were losing weight, but we have good hay again now, and I'm sure they'll all gain it back in no time. He also had some Zev, because he had a mild cough for a couple days. I think it was from the hay. I'm starting to have suspicians of a mild case of heaves as well. So I wet his hay every now and then if I'm around for hay time, just to keep the dust down. Under saddle, he's still doing amazing. He has very little muscle on and around his hind end, so we're working on getting his hind under himself. I'm trying very hard, but I can't seem to do it, so I got Sarah to get on him in a lesson one day, and as soon as she got on, he has his ass under himself. So it's obviously me. I'm just stupid. We're working a little more on trotting poles, and transitions to help with building muscles, and still doing the regular circles and bending, some backing up, and flyings every now and then. Kathie said that she thought he would be fine to jump a small cross rail. So we did, and he loved it! I polo'd and booted him, and gave him three days off afterwards, making sure there was no swelling, and no heat, and put absorbine liniment on him afterwards, and he was fine! I'm sure he would have been fine without all that precaution anyways, but you can never be too sure. That's all for now I guess! ETA: I don't think I mentioned this, but the most classes we'll be able to do in the Grand Falls show is 10, and that includes western, and games, because I doubt we'll be doing any jumping! .. unless I go in the avalon hunter division! S'only a max of 2'

Yesterday we had another lesson! And there was a girl there with Amanda named Sam Dyke and apparently she knew my horse! She had her camera, and took some pictures and video's (of my horrible riding so whenever she sends them to me, I'll post them for you! Murph did great! We had a little more progress with the engaging of the hind end. He did it naturally, but for only like, 5 or 6 strides) oh well! Maybe I'll get Sarah to get on him for a ride sometime, muhaha. We did w/t/c, hand galloping, work without sturrups, more trotting poles, circles/bending at the walk, trot, and canter. No flyings yesterday, and a few jumps. He was loving it! He gets so excited, and pricks his ears right up! I was sure not to work him too hard, and gave him lots of breaks, and lots of walking on a loose rein. Remembering his age of course Guess that's it!

Murphy participated in giving pony rides on Saturday! He was great. Here's a pic from that day! This little girl was so cute. She could hardly talk much, because she was not much older than a year. Her legs hardly reached out of the seat of the saddle, and her tiny little hands could barely grasp the horn, but she was loving it! Smallest girl wanted the biggest horse! haha. When her mother held out her arms to take her off Murph, she scrunched up her nose and said "NO!" haha. It was the cutest thing. She sat there for a good 10 or 15 minutes. A little while later, a big guy came along, and he was frightened to death of Murph

Murph decided to throw a shoe today He's due to be done again soon anyway, might even have him done tomorrow. He's slowly gaining weight again. Vinegar doesn't seem to be doing much, so I plan on going to Home Hardware to see if they can order in any fly spray. Murph was used in a "horse camp" a couple times this week. He was a doll for the girl, and she loves him to bits! I also started using a new bit on him today, and it is HEAVEN!!!!!!!!. It's a egg butt french link. Niiiiice. Along with a new bridle ^_^ We had a tack cleaning day, today, and cleaned almost EVERY saddle and bridle in the barn, plus oil. Niiiiice times 2. Murph's responding VERY well to this new bit. I love it. Anyway, Murph is doing wonderfully! I'm so proud of my boy. I should be off to bed. I just got home from Thomas Amusements, and I'm BEAT. Gotta get up 7:00am and go to work tomorrow morning. Night!
