hilary definately come visit..he loves it at clovelly..and he loves visitors!!

was going to do more training today, but after i did my warm up and started trotting sid, he seemed off in his shoulder..so i got renee and joan to look at his trot, and he was definately off...so i am going to give him the next few days off and see how he is sunday(my bday)!!so all we did today was walk with some flexion. he's doing great otherwise=)!! i think annemarie is gonna do some reiki and a massage on him on monday=)!!!

sid and i definately had our best ride ever...of course on my bday<3!!it was a really nice day so i took sid out for a hack...he was very nervous...first time out at clovelly on the trails..so that didnt go far, so i took him back to the barn and went in the large outdoor ring and tried to do some schooling, nope..evrything in the world destrated him. so i finally gave in and took him in the indoor and rode... he decided he wanted to be pro...so we started doing a lot of figures. he's circles are amazing he never cut a chunk out of his corner today, not once..and he started to drop his head and round out though his back...he even tried going into a frame a few times..<3!! once he started he was playing with the bit, and respecting my aids=). so i picked up his trot and got him moving forward and worked on our figures at the trot, again himself decided that he wanted to come round and be all pretty!! we worked on sme leg yeilding, right away as soon as i touched with my leg he went right over=)!! he definately knew i needed a good ride, and that it was my bday!! i'm so proud of my lil man=)!!

yesterdays ride wasnot as good as sunday's but he still did pretty good!! we did walk, trot, trainstions(walk, trot, halt), figures, leg yeilding, turn on the forhand, turn on the haunches, reain backs!!
hopefully i'll get to rde him again tonight, after i feed!!

wow it has been forever since i last updated this..

sid and i are doing wicked...our training is coming along! sid is starting to gain weight and muscle(so much i have to get a new saddle). which i am super happy about..he is looking so good!!

we have been doing a lot of walk and trot work! at walk he can now do a perfect circle anywhere in the arena and doesnt fall in or pop his shoulder, he can walk straight down the long sides, he bends and changes his bend in change of direction, our leg yeilding we are perfecting(but coming along nicely), and reinbacks are super!! trot...he sometimes pop his shoulder or cuts a chunk out of his circle(but not all the time), everything else we are working at in trot! work in progress...trot leg yeilds, rhythm, suppleness, him relaxing and not bombing around, using his hind not his forehand, playing with the bit(he tends to just chomp down on it).

his lunging has gone down hill(he doesnt want to be 2 feet away from me), so i'm gonna work on that!!

but super news..i cantered him yesterday 4 times each direction on just the longs sides(he is not balanced enough to do the short sides of the indoor at clovelly), he picked his canter up with only a few fast trot strides, and would come back when i asked him, and waited til i asked again! very happy and a very proud mom!!

i tried cheryl's BR dressage saddle on sid, and it fits like a glove(i got anne downton(aka dressage saddle fitter pro) to double check it for me, and she said it fits him wicked, and even has some room to grow! now i just have to ask cheryl if she mines i have a few rides in it to see how i like it. but in the mean time i am still looking=)!!

long long time since i updated..hmmm whats new!!

sid and i had our 2 month on june11th*love*...i am in the process of buying him a new saddle(it's a BR dressage saddle)..he looks stunning in it!!

U/S training...
-transitions(he hasn't done a bunny hop into his trot in forever)
-turn on forehand
-turn on haunches
-leg yeilding w/ correct bend
-figures(he can now switch his bend)
-circles(he doesn't pop his shoulder anymore..actually stays pretty straight, but comes round around my leg, drops his head into a frame w/ little contact, and raising his back up(first time he did it..i felt like i lifted 5" off him..lol)
-his canter...he can do half a circle(then he gets unbalanced and breaks), but he can do the longs sides in the indoor and will come back to me when i ask!

he has his first bath june 10th...he was a little nervous walking down to the shower stall(he has never been down there), he went into the shower stall ok, he was afaird of the water a little...loved being scrubbed down....then he went out for like 1/2hr-45mins or so and grazed..had no concept at first..moved with me everytime i moved(the ground work i've been doing with him..lol..he walks when i walk and halts when i stop)

for all his fans..just to let you know the little boy is no longer little he has gained about 100lbs plus in the 2 months he's been at clovelly, he is looking stunning!!

well that's all i can think of that we have been working on in the past month!! i'm hoping to get some lessons with susan soon, and get her on him, so she can help me out some!!

sid's bday is on june 22..he'll be 6!! i love my little boy so much!!
