Sid is by far one of the most easy going horses EVER! Susan litteraly tied ballons onto his halter and he didn't blink a eye!!! And him and goose are insanely cute together, walking side by side everywhere they go! congrats again babe! xoxo

yup..the past 2 days i have been riding sid, he is doing amazing. i got on yesterday and just was getting some energy out, and today i was actually working on figures at walk trot, and getting him to loosen up his neck muscle with ome felxion, and bend. really i just wanted him to start playing with the bit a little so he could respect me a little more instead of hauling me all over the place. and he was all pro and found it was more comfortable on his own to actually round out and drop his head into a frame, and i had close to no contact.
nothing fases him at all..wednesday when biz was walking him around in the outdoor at clovelly when he was first off the trailer, she was rattling the round pen, and he was best kind, the only thing in the indoor he is not a 100% on is the horizontal mirror, it sometimes catches his eye and he is like oh my god, i see another horse=).but he just watches it, doesnt freek out. and friday mom and most of my barn girls had a surprize congrats on getting a pony party for me..and susan did end up tieing balloons to his halter, and at first he was like aww(just bug eyed), but i was like sid it's ok, and he was cool about!!
nat loves sid forever!!

mom has tons of pictures of me and sid at his new home, i just dont have them on my computer yet!!
tonight i rode, and it was not a happy ride, sid decided that he wanted to bend to the wall and pop his shoulder. at some points even drift off the track. i tried halting in the middle and loosening up his neck with some over bending to either side, and even spinning him.nope nothing. so i decided to do something that i can make sure i end on a good note, and get off before i really started getting to fustrated. tomorrow i'm putting a pelham on him!!see if that helps any!!

Roxy does that too (pops her shoulder and drifts), but heavier and harsher bits probably won't stop him. It doesn't stop Roxy (and Roxy is a gronk when she wants to be). Try leg yielding him away from the direction he's popping his shoulder into. Overexagerate his bend in the opposite way you're traveling. It'll pop back in his shoulder, as well as speed up his yielding. Lots of leg and seat to encourage him to move it. If he doesn't leg yield the greated, and he pops his shoulder, turn him into the wall/fence, give no sign that you're going to do so. Let him hit it if he wants, it'll be his own fault. Just you know, don't be brutal : P Which I know you won't!
I'd love to see you and him undersaddle! Are you coming out this Wednesday night, I'll be out then!
He's fantastic looking btw!

aww thx chels for the advice...i wont be out wednesday i have to work(but feel free to cuddle sid), i will be out wednesday morning, thursday night, friday morning, sat night and sunday all day and monday all day...basically when ever i'm not working lol=)!!
today...a lot better, i used a pelham and double reins(vry littley..i just hate when he knows he can drag me around with his eggbutt).today we worked on walk trot, and we did lots of figues some leg yeilding, halt-reinback, and 2 long sides of canter=). i also carried a dressage whip that helped bunches to keep his big bum over=)we only rode for 1/2hr!!
