Ok Girls, Im back in the swing of things, and Red is at Clovelly now, so I can work with Erin every single day, Yay. What would I do without you! I've had a few lessons, and they've gone, splendid. We can lope circles now, and they aren't crazy. Almost everyone on thie forum knows what his lope was like..yikes, scary isn't the word. It took em 3 years, but he's finally making..huge progress! Thank god, I thought it would never come. I rode yesterday, and worked on jogging on a circle, and keeping him nice and straight on the quarter lines. We also did some turn on the haunches, which he's becomming quite good at. Then we moved onto the lope, which was, great! Im so happy with how far he's progressed in such a short ammount of time. Erin used him in his first lesson with someone else last night, I haven't talked to her yet to see how he was, but Im hoping for positive feedback! AJ took some pics but they all turned out like crap, I'll see if I can salvage a few though all the same. I cant wait for show season.

Thanks Nat He's doing wonderful, Im happy that he's happy. He's getting quite the hay belly after a little over 3 weeks..I can still see his ribs a little, but he's getting fat! Im so happy he's finally maturing, he was so difficult the past 2 years or so, it was a constant fight. I owe alot of it to Erin, who is an awesome coach, and a great trainer!

Rode Red again this morning, I got up bright and early and rode before school! He was fantastic, I had te arena to myself, we worked on walk/jog, then did a ton of straight-line turns, and practiced some turn on the haunches. Worked down the quarterlines, and leg yeilding on and off the track. Then on to the lope, loped to the left 4 or 5 times on a circle, then walked around once large, then worked to the right, I sitll have to work pretty hard to get him to get the correct lead to the right, but he got it, and we loped around that way 5 or 6 times. Then We practiced some large fast circles, and speed changes. Red did awesome Cooled out on a good note

Rode this afternon, with Erin and Lucky, Red was great, a little energetic, but good nonetheless. Considering he doesn't get outside as much becuase of all the snow!
Worked on turn on the haunches, and jogging while reversing ( he likes to walk..) Did alot of loping, right and left, and worked on halt-lope transistions, and also worked on out lope-halt, which was ok, he needs a tun up thuogh. Hopefully with the good footing, in the spring I'll get slide plates put on.
That was our ride today, and it went quite well considering there were 3 or 4 horses in the arena!

Today I ran out of time, I rode for about 15 minutes, and worked on wlk/jog, and turn on the forehand, it went pretty good, he leeps rolling back and doing turn on the haunches, but he'll get it soon Im sure, towards the end of it after he did it 20 times, he was starting to move his front end instead Then Erin got on him and finished the ride, she worked on getting him softer on the right, he stiffens up and bends to the left. She also worked him one handed which is something he needs to get good at for this show season!
