Sarah- holy ears, I know. She is SO cute. We call Cativa the donkey and Gazella the moose (her head is all round massive). I love that halter on her. It is an "indoor halter" only, so it stays clean, haha!!! Becc- I've said it from the beginning, her and Sabby mare are IDENTICAL. In fact: Sabby Mare See? you'd swear it was the same horse. Actually. I'll PROVE it by getting a picture of Cativa in her new blankie which is.... exactly the same. Jess & Sooz- thanks. we're pretty madly in love

So.. havent done too much with cativa lately. I just bring her in to groom and what not. She whinnies like crazy if I walk away from her.
I'm selling my close contact saddle. We're really gonna go dressage... I'm excited!

Alright so in the past week: Cativa got her mane cut. I like it so much better when it is short, then when it is long and messy. She looks like a show horse with a short mane Andre now rides Cativa walk, trot and canter!!!!! Yahoo!! I'm pretty impressed. Apparently she throws in the odd buck just to show she's still got some attitude, but on the whole she is being very well behaved this time around. I'm going to apple saddlery and then to the barn tomorrow. I'm hoping Andre will show up while I'm there and I can get some pictures and videos!

So......... I can finally start putting riding journals up again! Today was my first ride of the year on Cativa! The Diva has a new bridle which Aleasha gave us and it looks just STUNNING on her. I forgot my camera today but I'll bring one next week and take pictures- it fits her face just perfectly. Anywho, so yeah, new bridle, pretty dressage saddle (That we're borrowing from Sandra) and a silly little ride. Apparently I dont know how to ride babies anymore Got too used to Lacey this summer! We did mostly walk with a little trot. Cativa is gone a bit bum high again so I dont want to stress her joints or anything. Worked on more steering and of course the trotting. Now that she's had her time with Andre she wants to try all the "hard stuff". She was side passing and leg yeilding around the arena like a pro Even tho I didn't want her too Anyway, I wont be at the barn this weekend cause I'm going to montreal, but I'll be there next week for sure!

We have a new saddle! Sandra bought us a Crosby corinthian dressage saddle. It was only a couple hundred bucks so she picked it up for us ... fits Cativa perfectly. Unfortunately its only a 16.5" so my ghetto booty is a little big for it, but it's gonna be fine for us for the next little while. Until I can get my Bates anyway! Had another ride yesterday. Cativa was much better! We are starting to figure each other out again, with all this new knowledge she is. Not nearly so much confusion as last week, and we got a lot more quality work done. Steering is better this week- until I get greedy and ask for too much and she just doesn't know what to do! Trotting is going well.. we did a fair bit yesterday. It was really hot and the horses were sweating just standing in their stalls so I didn't want to work her too much, but we trotted around with Zambucca and Jen a bit and did some steering at the trot. The breaks are still working really well - she stops dead on a "woah" and sitting back. Its nice Sandra is going to Dressage@Devon this weekend, and Christina and I are looking after the barn on Saturday. I'm allowed to ride so hopefully I'll get Christina to snap some pictures or take some video!!

Rode the Diva again last night - she was fantastic. Worked on steering and circles in walk and trot. She gets bored really easy so I have to constantly be doing stuff with her... really makes me work hard!
She catches on so quick, our ride last night was way better then the last one! I wish I had more free time so I could be riding her 4 or 5 times a week, it would be great!
Didn't get any pictures but I will try when I am out on Friday

I was out to the barn on Friday and rode Cativa again. We did a lot of trot work, with circles, figure 8's and serpentines. Cativa is a star and improves so much with every ride - I wish I could ride her more than once or twice a week, she would be amazing! Alas my schedule does not allow it ...
Sandra says that as soon as she can get the hay put away and move the carts in the arena we will be cantering. We just need some more room! So that should be in the next week or two.
For now I have a friend here so I wont be at the barn until next week. Until then!!

Yeah she is great, I love her, of course!
Forgot to mention: Sandra said that maybe I should start riding Enzo again- just to keep his training up to date. That will be fun, I love little brother!

Alrighty ... rode Cativa last, first time in 10 days. She was a good girl. The steering was a little dicey at times but overall she was very good. Sandra just sat and basically laughed at us because she no longer needs to holler at me, I just do what she would already be saying. She's in my head ... haha
Anyway, I brought my camera again yesterday but totally forgot to take any pictures.
Wont be at the barn this weekend because Christina is at an art show, so the next update will be on wednesday.

haha Wow so its been nearly two months since I rode Cativa! Brutal! Anywho, I finally got out to the barn today! It was awwwwwwwwesome. I love my pony ♥ I only rode for about a 45 minutes but we did lots of trot work. She has grown so much... I need to measure her again. Anyway, no more bum-high so trotting was way easier for me. Much easier to sit back and not fall forward all the time. Because I havent ridden in so long Cativa was wound up. We were trotting around like Maniacs!!!! It was hilarious and wonderful. Sandra was basically laughing at us the whole time. Schooled some circles at walk and trot and then got off... Pony is a big fattikins I also snapped a couple of pictures of Miss Priss when she shook her head and had a ridiculous hairdo going on .... I'll post those in a few minutes! This week is supposed to be freezing and very snowy so I dont know if I'll be out for another few days.
