What a day!
It was cold, but that didn't stop me and Ashley from going for a ride!
I got there before she did, so I groomed Tyra, and slowly got her ready for a ride. Ashley showed up about 15 minutes later. She went and got Lugo and got him ready, and we headed out into the arena. The ground was hard, and there was still some ice there, so we only walked around it a few times, and then we decided to take it to the road.
This time, I didn't let Tyra trot. I was very strict with her, and if she even thought about going faster, I made her do a circle.
(for those of you who don't know, Tyra took off with me last time and I flew into a ditch)

I used my bridle on her today, because it's cleaner, and it fit! So i'll probably just use mine from now on.

Yet another day at the barn!

Not as good as I had hoped.
I don't think that saddle fits her too well (too tight) so I decided to ride bareback, and then I was falling all over the place (laziness) so I decided to throw on the other saddle.
Anywho, I don't think my reins make any difference. She was hauling me around wherever she wanted to go anyway. Uggh. What to do with a hard mouth? I don't know.
Ashley got on her for a bit, and afterwards, asked her to canter, but no way. She just got really muddy
Then we walked up to Trish's house, for a cool-out, where Tyra decided to roll in the snow that was left on her lawn (no saddle) so that got most of the mud off hahaha.
Anywho, no progress, really. Just a lot of pain. No chruch for me.

Hmm, haven't posted here in a while!

It was sooo nice out today! and she was so dirty! I think it may have been the dirtiest I've ever seen her.
Had a good groomin' and then I put on her lunging cavesson and took her out for a lunge. She had a great workout I must say!
I tried to get her to canter once on the lunge line, but she wouldn't do it, so I took her into the arena and let her go and asked her to canter and she did it right away. Haha. Ohh my.
Then I took her for a walk to cool her out.
She was quite sweaty I must say!
Oh! And she doesn't take off when I lunge her anymore. She hasn't been doing it for a while, now yay!

Can't wait till everything is all dried up!

Oops!
I forgot to post about our last visit.

She was the best she's been in a very long time. I first took her out to groom, and got lots of hair off of her. Then I got the lunging gear on her and went into the arena. She had this beautiful calm perfect trot on the go. Tracking up nicely, but still needs some work with her head carraige. Still kinda "up the in air". Like I mentioned, she doesn't take off anymore eaither!
Didn't do any cantering, but we had a nice work out on both sides.
Then myself and Lacey took our ponz out for a nice bareback walk around the barn. It was beautiful outside! I can't get over how nice it was. Makes me sooo happy. Tyra was sooo good. We had a great time!
I can't wait till the GF show, so everyone can see how much she's improved!

Another WONDERFUL day at the barn!

When me and Lacey arrived, Ashley wasn't there yet.
We went and got the ponz. Tyra was hiding in the bushes with Tessica *teehee*
I lunged her first, and she was okay. I asked her to canter, and well, she went fast .. can you say gallop? And holy strong. She pretty much pulled me over. She pulled so hard the lunging cavesson came right off, and of course the gate wasn't done up to the arena so she ran to the barn where Lacey was like "OMG WTF!"
Anyways, we went back into the arena for a bit, and then I cooled her out.
Ashley came in the process and got her boy Lugo.
I changed her head gear to her bridle, and hopped on bareback. She was really good. We did some walk/halt and walk/trot.
Then I asked Tyler to get the trotting poles out(what a big help! , and she was a bit nervous at first, but went over them anyway. She's still a bit nervous with them, but as our ride went on, she got a little more used to them. I'm so proud!

Sugar and Lugo did even better! And it was nice out as well. I'm loving the good weather!

Congrats it sounds like your realy improving together! I ride a pony who also has a hard mouth and like trya has her days when shes just going to take off and take me for a ride. I haven't found a soultion for the hard mouthedness yet but if you do let me know the secret!

I must say, I HEARD Tyra running towards the barn before I seen her. It was funny.
She came to a dead halt right at the front of the barn. I thought she was going to come on in.
But, she never. It was still funny though!

Also, she was GREAT today. Especially with the poles.
She got very dirty too! haha.

Another great ride!
She needs a break though. I've been working her pretty hard for the past three days.
First when I get her and brought her in the barn, she was kinda crabby. She wasn't in a good mood. Her ears were back, so I gave her an apple to try and cheer her up.
I put the bareback pad on her today (so my butt wouldn't get so dirty) and we did some walk/halt walk/trot and more trotting poles. I gave her lots of breaks, and lots of praise and pats.
Ashely wasn't there today.
But we still had fun

After our ride, we walked through the arena and picked out rocks, cleaned up some poop, tried to make a trench, combed over some of the dirt, and picked at the show in the middle of the arena and spread it out so it would melt faster.

Afterwards, me and Lacey took off to Kathie's barn, and there we helped clean out a stall, bring all the horses in, feed them their hay, and feed, fill the water buckets, and Lacey went upstairs to throw some hay bales down! haha, it was very fun!
With Trish at our barn, we never really get to do any dirty work, cause it's always spotless.

Wow, I haven't posted in here in a while!
A couple days ago, myself and Lacey went to the barn. Ashley wasn't there, so we took off to Kathies (Where Murph is) and took him out for a little ride. He's perfectly sound now! and still gaining weight

Afterwards, Lacey and I travelled back down to the Bland's. Ashley was there, and so was Jackie (Jackie Bland - BO)
We all got our horses, and brought them down to the barn.
We groomed, tacked up and went into the arena.

Tyra was amazing! She hadn't forgotten a thing. We did walk/trot, broken lines, trotting poles, and firgure eights.
She stayed on the rail, and wasn't too hard mouthed.

I'm beginning to think she has a thyroid problem. She's gained a lot of weight in the month or so I stopped riding her. Her girth is even a hole looser.

Anyways, that's how we're doing!

Tyra is a great lookin pony. Andrea took me to see her sometime in July and i even had a ride . She was good. She was extremely FATTT!!! Lol. Norwegian Fjords are awesome lookin ponies though.
