Well, since i've started training Tyra u/s, I thought I might as well start one of these for her. Today, I got on her bareback, because she's so fat that no saddle at the barn fit her. After she loses 200 pounds, we might look into buying her a new one. First when I got on, she looked around at my feet. She had no clue what they were. We went into the arena and we just walked around for a bit, getting her used to having someone on her back and a bridle with no blinkers. She was okay until she saw her baby. Then she got a little hyper, so I got off and walked her around until she calmed down a bit. I got back on after a while, and I asked her to trot. She responded to leg pressure, and started to trot. It was a little hyper at first and I believe she got a couple canter stides in there somewhere, but other then that she was great! Where she's a carraige horse, she has no bend what-so-ever on a turn. That's something we'll deffinately have to work on. Tomorrow i'm going to take her out again. I may lunge her afterwards. I don't know. Wednsday i'm just going to lunge her. I'll get pic a.s.a.p. I forgot batteries today, so maybe tomorrow i'll get some.

This horse is BEAUTIFUL! I agree on the side-reins idea As long as you know how to properly use them!

Aw, Andrea. She sounds like she's doing well! Your horse needs to lose weight, while mine needs to gain some.

I don't have any side reins Maybe i'll invest in some, but I think it's something we'll work up to. Once she moves off my leg, maybe she'll learn to bend around corners, and we'll do lots of serpentines, and stuff. Tessica (another Fjord at the same place) is gone lame I think she's brewing another absess. I'll keep you updated. I got some pictures yesterday Kjell ^ Sugar ^ This horse is 33!! ^^

She is TOO cute I know a suppling exercise you can do on the ground, just using a bridle! When I have more time I'll try and post it for you, if you want!

I'm not sure if it's the only breed that has it, but yes it does grow naturally like that. It's trimmed every now and then to keep it neat though.
It's not a stupid question, a lot of people ask it, because most horses have one color mane's that flop to the side.

Just a couple pictures from today that Lace took with muh camera. She looks crabby Didn't ride (not going to ride until I get the bareback pad. Should be here sometime next week) Just lunged her. She had a bit of energy built at first. After 5 mins in one direction, we switched, and she cantered a bit and let out a couple bucks. Then she continued to trot until I could tell she was getting a bit tired. I was in a rush anyway, but I say we had a good 10 minute lunge. Then I cooled her out, flicked her off, picked her hooves, and put her back.. She did the cutest thing when she got back to the field. She was all calm and let me take off her halter, and let me check if she was totally cooled. Then she calmed walked away from me and when she got far enough away, she took off SOOO fast, the ground was shaking and it was crazy! I love my crazy girl haha. I told Trish that Lacey used to ride with me at Meg's so Trish said Lacey can ride Sugar when I go in! So now we both have ponies to ride (there's a picture of suger in the first bunch of pictures I posted ) soo woot!! haha.
