Haha 20 lbs? I'd be aiming for more like 100 ! ! ! Shes really quite obese, I'd be concerned about founder.

She sounds like shes doing great though! Keep on having fun with her, don't go getting hurt or something silly like that! Who woulda thought the couch would take off like that?!

Yeah, It would be GREAT to get 100 pounds off of her! But where I don't live as close to her as i'd like, seeing her every day is near impossible.

Well, today wasn't so 'exciting'.

I went to the barn with my grandmother, and I went a fetched pony. I walked her back to the barn, and put her in the crossties. She was the crabbiest horse i've ever seen, today. She would not stand still, she tried to squat me into the side wall, she had her ears pinned back the whole time, and lifted her foot to kick me.
I was wondering if she had already been used today. I checked to see if she was limping or anything, and she was walking/trotting fine. So I think it may have been where I fell off last day and maybe she's still upset. I don't understand why she would be. I didn't smack her or anything, it wasn't her fault. So I just finished grooming her, and put her back. I decided she's allowed to have a crabby day, and not every time I come to the barn is work, even though that's the way it's been going lately.
My plan for today wasn't to ride anyway. I was just going to take her out the arena and play with her, but she probably would have eaten me.
Maybe next time I go to the barn she'll be in a better mood. Ohh pony.

Not in a bad way, but that is the fattest horse I have ever seen in my life!

Don't worry, everyone has bad days. On Beau's bad days I have to use a chain over his nose or he'll drag me around everywhere....I also call those his bottemless pit days, because no matter how much he's fed, he drags me for more.

She is a very cute horse!

Ack, havn't seen pony in such a long time! 11 days!
I'm hoping to see her this weekend before I head on out to sin jawns, and partayy at the Super 8. haha.

I don't know if i'll be able to pick out which end is which. She's THAT furry.
I'll take my camera fo sho. Just to let you see how fuzy she can get!

hmmm, gimme something different I can work on under saddle, like some easy exercises or something! haha, pleaseeee

Andrea- is there anyway they could adjust her grain? If she is not getting regular work then perhaps she could be cut back or have it changed or something. Like Jess mentioned, there are a lot of risks that come with being overweight!

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think she gets any. I only watched Trish make their feed once, and I can't even remember if she made one for Tyra. From what I remember, she didn't get ANY feed. Just grass over the summer. Easy keeper, I tell yah.

Gill, that's what I said when Andrea was telling me about her when she came in for a lesson at Equine over the summer. I was very surprised that she was THAT fat on just grass.

So John called me this evening (I was suprised to hear from him! It was a good suprise missed him!) He told me he hasn't called me lately because he has a new grand daughter! and he's been away visiting with her almost every weekend. aww
He asked me to come in tomorrow morning and take Tyra in the christmas parade in Grand Falls! yay! haha
I'm not sure when the Botwood parade is, but maybe John will let me take her out here in Botwood in the parade as well! That's only if it's not tomorrow as well

I'll be taking lots of pictures of my gorgeous girl, to let you all see how fuzzzzzyyy she is

Another interesting day at the barn!

I was soooo glad to see Tyra! I had butterflies in my stomach and everything. haha.

Showed up at the barn around 8:20am, and got the trailer hooked up, got tyra ready, all the harness stuff in the truck, and the carraige was on the flat trailer with the van.

Got Tyra on the trailer, and hopped in the truck, and half way out the driveway....we get stuck -_-

Took us a good half hour to get out.
I took Tyra out of the trailer, and put some sawdust under the wheels, and John got the truck/trailer unstuck, and drove it out to the road.

By the time that was over with, it was 9:30, and the parade started at 10:00. We wouldn't have had enough time to get there, get her ready, hooked up to the carraige, and go, so we decided not to go in the parade, instead..

We went and picked up John's wife, Jean, and went to get some gas (John bought me some hot chocolate mmm) and we went back to the barn, and went for a seligh ride! It was so much fun Reminded me of the old days with Ginger pooo.

Got a couple pics. My batteries were dead, so didn't last for long!
