What a day we had today ;D Well I went up to the barn around 6:30 - 7 ish to feed the horses. Then Vaquero and I tacked up and had a lesson with Rhonda. It was amazing! We warmed up with just walking/jogging around the arena, off the rail. Then we did a pattern, which consisted of jogging a figure eight, then rising trot a figure eight, then halting in the middle, and backing up. Vaquero was excellent! Then we worked on our lope, and got the left lead RIGHT OFF THE BAT! ;D ;D! We then worked on my body position, which was fun. Afterwards we worked on... ROLLBACKS ! Aha, it was so much fun. We started off with doing them at the jog, making sure our straight lines of our U was straight, and stops/turns where fast. Then we boosted it up to a lope, which was even more intense! It was fun though, and I learned so much. God can my horse ever spin! We then worked on neck reining, and did a lot of transitions with that, and afterwards cooled down! It was an awesome lesson, like always! Wanda and I put Vaquero and Kitt out in the filed together to get some excersise, seeing as they where left in all day due to the weather. But we all had a lot of fun, and also acomplished a lot. Today I also introduced Vaquero to balloons! It was quite funny. He was pretty good though, had a few spooky moments, but hey, this is what "bomproofing" is all about! Next is... the tarp... lol. Well we're doing great, tomorrow Vaquero and I are starting the science project, so I'll let you all know how that went. Take care you guys! Danielle and Vaquero <3

Well, Vaquero has been on stall rest since Thursday due to lameness, so we haven't done anything, except just me chilling in his stall with him. We might as well go through it together! Well we're thinking he's lame due to a cut on his hock, probably got kicked pretty badly out in the field. He's made a lot of progress since Thursday, and we should be healed now in the next few days. So far I've just been grooming and abosrbing his leg. I also took him out and put him in the arena for the first time since Thursday, just to stretch out a bit since he's doing better. Then I walked him a a few times around the arena before I left. So this is pretty much it. Myself and V-mann are just lazing back, waiting for his leg to heel. He's getting lots of attention (not like he didn't get a lot before) and is still being sooked to death. Well this is how we're doing! I'll let you all know once he bounces back, and we're back on track. Take care guys! Danielle and Vaquero <3!

Vaquero is doing much better! I went up last night to check on him, and let him out in the arena for a bit. He was loping around, let out a little buck or two, and also did a bit of rolling. He was happy to get out of his stall for a bit, seeing as he was on stall rest. So just wanted to let you all know how he's doing.
We're planning on starting our lessons again on Saturday, so I'll update about that when the time comes! Take care guys!

Good to hear your boy is feeling better. But if he was lame enough to be on stall rest, you might want to watch letting him out in the arena loping around and whatnot, it might be a better idea to lead him for a bit until you're sure he's 100%.

Oh ya, we've been doing a lot of walking around the arena as well! Rhonda actually made the decision to put him in the arena, just to let him stretch out, seeing as he's been on stall rest for the past week. Aha, should of made that clearer in my last post! Thanks though! Can't wait to be riding with you guys again!

Wow, haven't updated this in a while! Vaquero is doing excellent, really comming along with Parelli, and we're both loving it so much! Have been getting lessons with Rhonda Fiander, which are going great, and planning to go back a forth between Rhonda and Katrina, which will be excellent! Vaquero and I had our first lesson with Katrina today, it was wicked! Started off just walking around to warm up, then went into a jog and rising trot to warm up as well. We then worked on our lope to the left and right (I can't get over how well his pick-ups are getting to the left, we're FINALLY getting that left lead!) We worked on keeping his head to the inside, and keeping his attention on me, and not other horses/people. We then went into an excersise to start spins... lets just say we have the turn, just not the forwardness! All in all he was great, we're getting another lesson from Katrina this saturday, and are very excited! We had an amazing lesson today! I then cooled him out, groomed him, and put him to bed! He's such a man, I love my boy to death! We're hopeing to expect Biz and Nat to come visit us on Sunday, aha, others are welcomed ! Well this is how we're doing, take care everyone Danielle and Vaquero <3

Wow, what an excellent night! I went up to see my baby boy, hadn't seen him since Sunday due to all the projects/homework I had... school is such a waste of time!
Anyways, I started with cleaning out his water buckets, then went into Parelli. Went a bit right brained for a quick minute or two while doing the circling game at short range (with the carrot stick over his back) he shortly realised he didn't have to run when having the carrot stick over him, so switched back to left. All in all, he was excellent at all the games. We're getting really good at the sideways game over pylons. He sometimes gets unconfident and thinks I want him to jump the moon, but we're getting much much much better at it!
I then........ SADDLED WITH SAVVY First time, and both Vaquero and I LOVED it! By the end of it, it was amazing how fast he transitioned into actually likeing the saddle. I only had gotten to the point of the Parelli Level 1 DVD's on Monday, therefore, tried it today and it was amazing. When we had it on, had tightned up the cinch in 3 stages, he had his head down, chewing and just completly relaxed, pretty much saying *wow, this is awesome!* It was the first time he actually had an opinion to the saddling (seeing as I just actually found out about it on the DVDs) Incredible results, and saddling is so much better for both of us! I then did the whole mounting/asking if I could get on, he was also great with that! God... Parelli is amazing, and so is my horse times a million!
I then rode him, working on bending, transition, faster stops, then cooled him down. It was a great ride, and he was very responsive. Afterwards I untacked him, groomed, and sent him off to bed! I love my horse so much <3 What would I do without him?!
Well take care everyone!
