Rudy is a horse I usually ride in my lessons so I started a log for us.
Yesterday, Jason let me ride Rudy. He was so funny! Rudy wouldn't stop wiggling when i tried to get on, and since I'm used to a western saddle, my dad basically had to lift me on him. Then we just walked around, doing some halts, and figures and stuff. Then once he was warmed up, we were trotting around. His trot is SO cute! Little pony. <3 We were practicing my rising diagnols and I'm getting really good at it. I can sit two beats and switch my crop over in a second! Rudy was getting tired after, so I cooled him out, and he was so good. I basically was holding my reins at the buckle because he's not scared of ANYTHING. God bless him! Then me and him hung out in the field and ate apples!

Wow, I havn't updated this in foreverrr! I've been riding him alot and I'll write about my lesson yesterday!
I gave Rudy a nice grooming, getting the dandruff out of his mane, and he was great putting on his tack. Then we walked out of the barn, and there was a big puddle and he was like "Whats that?" but I just walked him around it. Silly boy! Then we went in the arena and I got on, and started walking around, and it was a bit noisy in the back of the arena, so even though Liz told me to walk up around the cones, i'd cut off because I'm scared of the noise! I gotta work on that, hah. Then we started trotting, and he was very good, I didn't have to use my crop once. I did my 2point position, and Liza told me to take me feet out, and without looking, put them back in. That was actually easy! He is the greatest pony ever! Then we went back in, and I gave him another good grooming, and lots of treats and tons of cuddles !! I love my wittle boyy!!!

Keep in mind that by you saying "oh that's scary, must avoid it", you're going to teach him that it's scary and he'll start coming off the track all the time, whether you want him too or not and that won't help you with your fear. I'm afraid of loud noises too(I hate not being able to hear what is going on around me), but when I had to get used to the indoor when it was windy, I grit my teeth and focused on showing Prancer/Rocky how it wasn't scary, even though I was scared myself. Be strong for Rudy. Go into the arena while it's windy just by yourself run around and yell(as long as there isn't a horse in there) do what you gottah do! . Bring in a bean bag chair and a book, anything!! HAha

Last night I rode Rudy! Dad brought Sofie out, and Rudy tried to follow her when I was getting on, but I managed to not fall flat on my face. Yay me! We worked on staying on the track, and walking past the "scary" end of the arena, I managed to get around there because it wasn't very windy last night. We did some diagnols, and circles, and then we picked up our trot. Rudy was great last night, he was actually going forward! I was a very proud mother! We went around twice without stopping, which made me quite happy. After some more trot, we cooled out, and I hopped off, because it was SO cold out! Then I gave him lots of cuddles and a nice grooming, and of course some treats! I love my wittle boy!
That's all for now! ~Sarah and Rudy

I had SUCH a good ride last night! Rudy stood perfectly still for me to get on, and had a nice forward walk! We walked around, both directions, and we did some 20 metre circles just for fun, and then we picked up our trot! His trot was super dee duper good! Liz, you'll be proud of me, I stayed on the track the whole time! I even banged me leg against the wall, heehee. We did some diagnols in trot, and then I cooled him out because they ground was extremely hard! Then I took him and gave him lots of lovin!

Holy taters, I seriously need to update this! Rudy is mine now! Today we had a pretty good ride! I walked him around the indoor a bit, and he definitely wanted to go outside, so we walked out to the outdoor! I was very proud, he wasn't super speedy and didn't spook when Beamon tried to eat him, haha! Then we walked around in there, working on keeping him on the track. Well, that didn't go too well! As Hilary said, all the horses have spring fever! Rudy was all "OMG look at that! WHEEEE!" or "Holy taters, scary pile of poop!" But I kept him going cause I wanted to do SOMETHING with him! We picked up our trot, it was pretty speedy (for Rudy anyway ahah), so I let him just trot around for a bit. Then Liz and Maddie came in, and Maddie was being rather....interesting and was freaking Rudy out, so I took him back. He wanted to trot all the way back, but I only let him trot by the indoor cause I didn't want him to get sore feet. He was still being a dork in the indoor, but we got through it! Then he started trotting and stopping with moving sideways, which nearly threw me off, so I decided I should get off, better safe then sorry! So I untacked him, and then freelunged him for a bit, since we basically did only walk and I wanted him to get his beans out! He was super silly, bucking and galloping! I love my boy! Afterwords he gave him a bath! He HATES the water, but eventually he settled down when Linda fed him table scraps, teeheehee! Then I took him for a walk just to get him dry, and then he had some well-deserved hay! I LOVE MY BOY! Thats all for now! Love, Sarah and Rudy!
