To answer your question, Elsabe, I guess it' just an opinion what one works better. The bitless just uses different pressure points on the horses head to control and it. I liked it, but not for trails. hahaha.
Aks, Sugar has verry sensitive front feet and she works way better with them. They're a tad to big on her, but she's getting new ones soon!

aks - Lacey doesn't own the bitless. So she doesn't know where it came from .. unless she asked Jackie, or someone who knows. Haha.

Well Sugar and I had a very productive day yesterday! It started with some bonding and sleeping in the field. She was such a lazy pony! haha. I actually had to coax her to get up! I didn't lunge her yesterday at all cause I thought she was going to be lazy enough to ride. haha. So I just groomed, and tacked up! We can finally ride in the arena again! YAY for sun soaking up the yuck! Anyways, everytime I asked her to trot she deffinatly felt uncomfortable.. so I hauled off the saddle and tried it bareback! She was a little bit better, but not much. I think it's just the way she is - and Ashley thinks so too. So, I put the saddle back on her and continued riding. She was great. She trotted really nice and we tried a canter but that only made her mad. Ashley got on her and got a little canter out of her. She does a really funny breathing thing though, but Lugo does it too, so it's in the family. They both carry themselves the same way too! Heads up to the skyyy. Also, I find that Sugar pulls for her head a lot. It's not a big deal and if I tell her to stop it and make her back up, then she's okay again. Either way, yesterday was nice. I'm about to go out the door again now and go to the barn again. Ash isn't going to be there for the first little while.. so I'm going to use the riser pad to see if it makes her better. I'll be getting one off Amy the weekend I think! : ) Woop. Here's a few pictures.

So, Sugar and I had a BREAKTHROUGH day! I actually feel like we've gotten somewhere and we accomplished great things! I gave her a great groom today, because she was FILTHY dirty. Then I tacked her up and rode around in the driveway while Andrea lunged Tyra. Then I got the arena to myself for a few minutes so I got her working with her trot. She was excellent. I also used the riser pad today cause Ashley wasn't there until later so, I bummed it. I found that it improved her GREATLY. I just need my new SADDLEPAD and everything will be great! So, we worked on some trotting and such. Then we broke out some trotting poles! Sugar was actually EXCITED. I took her over them and she extended and stretched out like a pro! I was so happy. Then I took her down from a walk and said "canter!" and she did! I could take her around the arena 2 full times! And she wouldn't stop! What a mareee. It was really good! But then we stopped cause she was great and did some more trotting. Did a lot of work with the poles and some circles. I can't wait for the rest of the arena to be dried up and ready to use! We will be pro. XD Pictures in a few! {Edit:Pictures} 1. Trotting pole ACTION! My tongue is stuck out in this pic. 2. I was SO proud! 3. Cantering Video!

Haha Amy, I'm working on her head She's getting MUCH better! You will come up soon and see Okay, so I never wrote about Sunday. Sunday was another AMAZING day. Ashley wasn't with ius, which was sadness, but Andrea and I worked the ponz in the arena. Did some warmups with her and then got to business with trotting and working the poles (haha). She absolutly LOVES trotting poles. She gets SO excited and points up her ears and EVERYTHING. We did some work with circles and bending too. Today was also a very good day! The wind was VERY high too! Sugar HATES the wind. haha. Well, I got there, and Ashley was out riding around - John was in the arena with Kjell. So I talked to her for a while and grabbed Sugar and Trish had just groomed her - god love her. haha So I flicked her down, did her feet and saddled up. We were walking around in the arena with Ash and Lugo after John left, but then he came back in with the cart! So we did our best and rode with John & Kjell trotting around in the cart. lol. It was actually alright though! Not a bit of confusion at all. And I was proud of Sugar too - the cart going around her, and the wind being her enemy - she was a well behaved pony! We worked on some normal trotting and then we did circles and the poles again (she loves themm) And the snow is gone in the middle of the arena too! So, I got her doing some figure eights and actually did a cerpentine! WOO!. Also, I got her doing leg yeilds and boy, she's PRO!~ So we had a lot of fun. Oh! Her cantering - haha. We did a bit on sunday & today. Her right lead is perfect and it's completely balanced. But the left - she has difficulty picking up the right lead! When she picks up the wrong one, I take her down to a walk and ask again. A few times now she gave a little buck - but I made her do some circles, hoping it wont become a habit. She also finds it hard when we're going left, to bend. So I do a lot of circles in that direction. Guys, I'm so silly, but I'm the proudest of her now! She's like such a different horse. She used to disregard all my love and such things. She was such an anti-person horse. Now she nickers to me and loves me, and lets me snuggle to her. I love her : ) Everyone must come to the GFW show to see herrr and give her some lovin'

Can anyone say BREAKTHROUGH day? I've ridden a lot between now and the last time I posted. But everything is completely the same until TODAY!
Sugar and I jumped for the first time today! She's been jumped before. But not by me. And not in yearrrs. But we did. It was only like a foot. But she did it! I'm so happy!
That's just an update on ussss <3 Proud, I am.

I got to see my girlie again today! Went and took her out for a short ride cause I was pressed for time, and we were all alone (with the exception of Tyler). We missed Lugo and Ashie! aww. Well, I groomed her and tacked her up while chatting with Jackie and petting her ADORABLE Jack Russell Terrior! Then we went for a ride in the arena, worked on trotting, cause cantering needs more time than what we had. So, we did circles, cerpentines and poles. She was GREAT. It was a great day to ride, the sun wasn't hot, it wasn't FREEZING, and the wind wasn't too high. Just one of those nice days. I didn't get any pictures though. Next timee

Mmm 17 but she still got tonnes of life.
So, yesterday was a GREAT day. Just around 7 I got to the barn and Ash and Loo were already riding, they were nearly done. So, I still tacked up and joined them in the ring. I got Sugaral warmed up and then we did some bending and circles.. then some cantering.
We popped over the little jump course Ash had up for her and Lugo. It was cute. Sugar leaped them (well, a leap for HER, haha) Then she was cantering so smoothly around. So I just two-pointed and let her go. I swear her head almost touched the ground. Ash can vouch for me when I say that. I wasn't even asking for her head down, but it was the nicest. Until the point I felt that she was going to step on her own face, so I took her down to a walk. I don't know if she was trying to look pretty or she was planning on going bronco on me. But damn, it was cute.
We had an excellent day - and Sugar is LOVING the jumping. It's like she has something to look forward to, and it's funny cause you can notice the spark in her when she sees the jumps. Too cute.
Ohh! And I have the weekend off for the show. I made sure of that! So you will be seeing us at the show here in GFW. YAY!
