Update on Vaqeuro!!! We're doing great!! We've been lunging a lot, motly working on join up, but god can that horse move!! Hehe, Jess says he would be GREAT english, lol!! The baby might be, but the mom sure isn't!!! I haven't seen him in 2 days !! I miss him!! I'm hopeing to go see him after work today!! Well the AEC show is this weekend, so hopefully you guys will be up to see him!! Well this is how Vaquero and I are doing!! Vaquero told me to say hi to everyone!!

UPDATE !!

We had our lesson yesterday with Sylvia, it was wicked! For the full hour we just worked on him getting light on my hands, and using such little aids to do so. By the end of our lesson, he had a perfect frame, and I had no pressure on my hands at all. Sylvia is AMAZING!! ;D

Well, as for everything else, he's doing really well! He's starting to learn who I am, and our ground work is super! No more biting!! *knock on wood*!! Today I brought him blueberry picking, which was only down the driveway, haha, he loved it!! He would eat all the leaves on the trees, and then when he was sick of that, he would eat all the little patches of blueberrys. Aaawww, I love my horse ! Oh ya, pictures of us will be posted soon !!

Our ride yesterday was really good! We did a lot of walk-jog, jog-lope, lope-jog, lope- walk transitions. Everything except out lope-walk transitions are great!! We're still perfecting the lope-walk, and it's getting a lot smoother! He was really willing yesterday, kind of like, okay mom, now what?!?! Our lope pickups we're FABULOUS, except we wouldn't pick up our left lead!! ! After a while of messing with his mind (if he's going to pick up the wrong lead continuesly, then i'm going to ask him for the wrong lead, and make him work. When I did that, he was like, wow, wasn't expecting that!!) then I brought him back to a walk, asked for the left lead again, then he picked it up on a dime! I then jumped off, praised him continusly, and cooled out!! I was so proud of him!

Today's Ride:

We had a lesson with Sylvia today. Sylvia is wicked!! I love her, she knows so much!! We warmed up with our nice fast walk, working on body postion, and the form of our horse, then we pushed it up to the jog, still working on body position, and collecting, and how graceful we can get the job. We then worked on straight line, and teaching our horses that you do something when I ask you, not, you do something when you want to do it. So we just worked on going up and down the arena at the jog, and if he wanted to go to the right, i'd do the oposite and push him to the left. In the end, when we came to the fence, he would just keep going straight till I asked him when to turn. Like I said, Sylvia is wicked!! You learn so much from her, and our lesson was so good! We then cooled out, and dismounted, and that was the end.

I'm hopefully going to go up tomorrow, if not Friday,so hopefully our ride will be good then, I'll keep you posted!!

Oh ya, and we CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEA !!

victoria!- Thanks! Ya, I've only owned him for 2 months and a bit, we're progressing well, I can't wait to see us in a year!!

I rode Vaquero today!

We started off with our warm up, which consisted of turn on the haunches, both directions, back up, circels, and just walking around getting our muscels all loosened up!! Then we just worked on our jog, seeing how nice and graceful we can be, and also working on our collecting at the jog! He was great, then we picked up our right lead lope, and he TOOK off like a bullet!! We had energy!! After once or twice around the arena, getting our energy out, we finally got our composure together, and where fabulous the rest of the ride!! We also worked on our circels, doing all gates, and ended off with about 100 pats, and big hug and kiss, and just chilling!!

Then we had about 2 or 3 WICKED grooms ( hehe, I love grooming!! ) And grazed a bit! AND... we finally made the final decision about going in the NEA... and... WE ARE !! We're so excited!!

I'm only taking him in Showmanship, Halter, Pleasure, Horsemanship, and MAYBE Command. Seeing how it's his first show off grounds, and our first show together!! We're really excited though, Vaquero can't wait to see all his buddys that I've been telling him about!! ! Well this is how we're doing, we'll deffinitly have LOADS of pictures from the NEA, hehe, and feel free to take pictures of us while we're there!!! We're very photogenic, hehehe!!
