Duff

Today was the first day of my lease on Duff, and we had a really good day, even riding in the parking lot
Before we started riding I gave him a really good grooming becasue he is shedding like crazy. Every couple of brush stokesI had to stop and pull the hair off it lol. Riding, we dod alot of walk trot transitions, upwards and downwards, working on getting him listening. Once we had the transitions down pat we did a tiny bit of canter, mainly working on transitions again. And we did a couple of walk canter transitions which were beautiful
we didnt do much more than that becasue it was fairly icy and I didnt want him slipping or hurting himself, especially on our first day lol. I groomed him again and turned him out after our ride

he's coat is crazy.. he has the THINNEST coat alive.. yet he sheds more then my wooley beast.. LOL

I know, thats one of the reasons that Im leasing him...that way I dont have to take lessons (I am though lol) and I can still learn a whole bunch of things

Another good thing about leasing is that you can practice what you've learned in your lessons during the week

I think Sue will be teaching me, but im not positive. I havent been able to ride this weekend becasue its so icy ....but hopefully tomorrow itll be less icy lol.

I was by Cloverdale the last few days, and I said to myself; "why didn't I bring skates?"
The arena is like a skating rink. I seen duff, he's a handsome horse. Congrats on the lease!

Congrats, Duff man is a fabulous horse! Like everyone else said, you will learn a lot from him!
I feel your pain with the shedding! My horse has NO winter coat, he has been blanketed since September lol, but he is shedding like crazy!
