Rode yesterday. He was fabulous! He is getting used to all the new things. He would only get distracted when we would ride past the door to the barn. He had a nice steady trot and a nice flowing canter. He was really starting to pop up from the hind and carried himself nicely throughout the whole ride.

I had a fabulous ride yesterday. We warmed up with some stretching, then getting him to stretch long and low once I was on. We did alot of walk-hat-walk transitions and 5-10m circles. We picked up trot and did a nice few trot-walk-trot transiotions as well as trot-halt-trot transitions which were horrible starting off but he had them mastered after only a couple. I picked up contact and brought Nick round through his hind end and then to his head set. We did alot of work with him keeping at a steady working trot and him keeping himself round through transitions.
On to Canter. He picked up his canter through a very nice tansition, no hesitation whatsoever. He had a nice flowing stride and was moving very freely. I think the footing is helping him loosen up ALOT! I harrowed it before I rode and it was really loose and deep.
We did alot of 15m circles and we did a fair number of simple changes across the long diagional and the short diagional.
Nick broke out in a bit of a sweat, so we cooled out. I dont like having him drenched in sweat in winter afraid he will get a chill. We went outside for our cool-out. Walked over across the bridge to his field then back up around the property.

Shannyn and I both rode Nick today. I warmed him up then she got on and popped him over a few jumps. I am still a little nervous of jumping him since he flipped over on me last summer. Anyways, after seeing Shannyn jump him, I was dieing to get on! I got on and jumped him. It felt so good to get to jump him again! By the end of our ride there was no fear left in me ! I hope to get to jump him again tomorrow and I am gong to see if Liz can come out and teach me sometime soon. I need jumping lessons real bad!

I haven't updated this in a little while. I have been riding lots. Atleast 5 times a week. When I cant ride I free lunge him or my Mom takes him for walks He loves it a little too much, haha. We have a dressage clinic we are preparing for at the end of the month with Lynn Deturk. I am really excited, just hoping we will be ready! I guess this is it for now?

I went for a trailride with Abby&Thunder on Tuesday. It was nice to get out of the arena for a change! Nice to have a trail buddy now as well . At first Nick wouldn't go over the bridge alone so I hopped off and walked him across it. We headed for Dixie 'H' and Abby met us half way. We went to her place and Nick and I had a tour. We left there and headed back towards Southern and went on the 'pipeline' for a walk. It was nice and relaxing. I am going to the barn today and I will update later
