Okay, so I am HORRIBLE when it comes to keeping these things up to date, but im going to try my best .
Lately I have been working on getting Nick back in condition. He was off for about a month and a half due to him cutting his face and then his abcess. I will start with today's ride. Myself, Emily and Julie all rode at the same time. I started off with a nice long warm up then we did some walk-trot-walk transitions. Then we proceeded with walk-trot-halt transitions. We only did a few of these but he was awesome! Pretty simple I know, but his downward transitions need work. We did some 20mand 15m circles at trot and a few serpentines and change of rein across the long diagional. We then did some canter circles and a few simple changes. He was really cooperative and isn't grabbing the bit and running into his canter transition after we break to trot anymore. After a few of those we did ALOT of walk to canter transitions and two or three halt to canter transitions. He was really good and he started 'sitting' back on his hind quarters when I asked him to canter from halt/walk. After we mastered that, I gave him a nice long cool-out. I got off and let him follow me around the arena while we cooled-out.
When we got in the barn he got a HUGE carrot that I bought from the vegetable man that is always on torbay road ( ) It was huge and it took him a few minutes to eat it.
Well that was our ride today. Tomorrow I am going to ride him then Aunty Gill is going to take him for a spin!!! I will try and update this and let you know how it goes
