Pam rode him today. He was excellent for her. She had trouble geting him to pick up his right lead, which he never has trouble with, so she asked me to hop on. He got it right away. I think she is just trying to get the 'feel' of him and figure out the tricks to keeing him balanced!

Im off until Thursday so I am going to ride eveyday

Rode today. He was a STAR !
Had a nice long warm up. Lots of halt transitions, leg yeilds, circles, change of direction, etc. He had a nice working trot and I could feel him tracking up. He has been super unbalanced with his right lead canter lately, but today he was fine! Loads of circles and transitions. Walk to canter & simple changes. He was super good!
We have a lesson next Saturday. Im really happy because we haven't had a lesson since before christmas!

Rode again today. There was no one at the barn so we had some alone time. No distractions, which was nice.

I groomed him and tacked him up in his stall while he finished his 3:00 hay. I brought him out to the indoor arena and started warming him up with some ground work. We did some side passing with pressure on his shoulder and hip. Eventually he was side passing from me just touching where I would que him with my leg when riding. I got on and continued his warm up with some leg yeilding and a nice forward walk. Some change in directions and changes in his bend with loads of circles. On to trot, nice working trot lots of change in directions and a few attempts at extended trot. His stride was longer/larger but no where near extended trot The arena was sort of hard, so only a small bit of canter. He was really 'choppy' in his stride on Saturday, but the last two days he had a nice free flowing canter. I think his saddle slipped back a little on Saturday and thats why he was choppy. We did a couple of simple lead changes then we cooled out. Nothing major today, too cold!

I got off and hand walkd him. I dont eve need to hold on to him anymore, he just follows me <3

Pam is riding tomorrow.

Pam had a Dressage lesson with Ann Downton today. It was really good! They worked on Rythem, Balance and his body carrage. He was really forward and tracking up the whole lesson.

Pam also did alot of work on her position, getting ready to go to BC. Nick and I are going to miss her! She does SO well with him. It's too bad she has to leave

I have a lesson with Liz tomorrow Im really excited!

Had my lesson with Liz today. Nick was good. We worked on turn on the haunches and shoulder fore. He was getting a little frustrated with all the new things. We ended on a good note so that was good.

Riding again tomorrow.
