vicky thats pretty biased to say most people think that.
sarah you and brandon = <3
Beau doesn't do what Vicky says most people call "frame". He does a true frame in the summer months when I'm riding him and lunging with sidereins almost twice a day, but right after show season, and for the most part of the year, I don't even expect him to carry his nose vertical, I let him carry it infront of the vertical, because it takes a lot more than what you've said top have a real "frame". If I tried to bring his head in, he'd get really short strided and hollow. ANd then he'll be really heavy on my hands. I find the best frame I've ever gotten out of Beau was when I wasn't even asking. He was just moving freely.
Anyways, back to the point, I just took my pain medication, so...sorry for rambling, but Brandon is really beautiful, Steve LOVES him!

Exactly! A 'frame' (oh how I loathe thy term) is the -result- of all your diligent efforts in acheiving balance and enagement, it's when the horse truely starts to collect itself and works UP through it's body as opposed to just forwards. Or, you know, hindquarters engaged, horse moving freely and lightly through it's front.

I'm lazy so i'm going to resort to jot notes. Last thursday: - warmed up as usual, broken lines with no contact and square turns, circles, etc etc
- leg yeilded to the rail and cued canter departs, vice versa
- worked on trotting poles across each diagnol, adjusting stride length accordingly
- trotted crossrails where trotting poles were previously (formed a box)
- raised them to verticals (about half a foot to a foot)
this lesson was mainly concentrating on straightness through our turns and straightness in general

ughghgh I just wrote out a huge post but my computer glitched and it wouldn't post >.< Anyways, thank you so much Aly ♥! And guys I think Brandon might just be a natural born jumper . I lunged him on monday and he was wonderful, a little hyper but was really spot-on on his transitions. Anyway when I was done I took him off the lunge line and let him walk around, but there was a cross rail set up on the longside. Next thing I know my fatty is taking off down the long side and threw himself over the crossrail, then proceeded to do it again. I was in awe haha he is so adorable. So anyway needless to say I made him do it a few times at a trot and he was wonderful. I plan on going down today and raising the jumps a little to see how well he performs. I got a really bad blurry picture

haha you guys The indoor was watered recently and someone left the doors open so half the arena is frozen, hopefully the warm weather today will revese this! Anyway last night was my lesson so we stayed to the bottom half of the ring, with a pole on each tangent point on the circle, warming up with legyeilds and broken lines down the longsides. Worked on alot of walk thru trot transitions into the canter, riding with a little more contact than normal and just overall starting to put things together. Did alot of work on bending and counterbending, as well as shifts of balance crossing diagnols at the canter. Took a little break and crossed over my stirrups, and worked on canter transitions again, still on the circle. He was a very good boy! He is so fuzzy, i'm going down now in a few minutes with intentions to clip the underside of his neck because he tends to sweat alot there (I know, I know, sure sign he's working too much with his front end..don't worry, i'm working on it)..I can see this being disasterous! Oh yeah, and a few people have asked me if i'm switching coaches. Believe me, i'm not and won't be for a very very very long time. Actually as soon as I get a job, i'm putting Brandon in training under Donna ! exciting.
