This week we are working on our neck reining. We had a lesson last night where we practiced run downs, roll backs, reining patterns and turn on the haunches. She is much better at turn on the forehand, and sometimes when she's doing TOH she goes into TOF instead, but thats probaly because I'm not good at them either, and riding one handed mixes me up some times. On Tuesday we did some small circles at the jog and big(enormous) circles at the lope, that were shaped like rectangles. I haven' been riding her with spurs yet this year, but may start because she has no fear of my crop. I'm sure she's realized that when I hit her as hard as I can I'm still so weak that it doesn't effect her. But spurs are a different thing all together and I think a few days riding with them might wake her up to my superiority We're entering in the Clovelly Spring Show, and our classes are Senior Regular: -Trail -Command -horsemanship -stock seat eq. and for english, senior regular -show hack -road hack -pleasure.

I'm officially leasing Prancer again as of todaaaaay =D.
She was such a babe today, aswell. I did what Maria told me to do and just kept her busy and kept her mind on what we were doing and she was really good, she still had some bucking sprees but she was still really forward and seemed like she was even having fun once we got going! We did lots of 20m circles which is what Prancer and I need to realy work on, our balance and yadda yadda. So yeah, I'm really pleased with her today =D =D, it was refreshing and reminded me of why I started loving her in the first place!!

good job, Mel!!!
I rode Monday and Tuesday, all western stuff. We continued practicing our neck reining, and I warmed her up with the bridge rein, which she understands better. In a move completely unrelated to any of my kind of riding, I want to teach her to stop when I drop her reins, and stand when I mount(without me even holding her reins). Its annoying when your horse walks away. When I was younger I trained Champ to come to an abrupt stop if his reins were dropped. It was very convenient, because sometimes when runing in the field, I might drop one and then I practically freaked out. It was also good if I was ponying him with another horse and had to let go- he'd just stand waiting for me to come back.
Mel, if you want to go in the shows, I will be planning some fundraisers to help pay for them!!

Kelly, I would LOVE to show her. I'll help out with the fundraiser as much as I can. Unfortunately is we do a bottle drive we can't use my truck because of the cover. Anyway, let me know what's going on with the fundraising.
...................................................................................................
Today I rode Prancer again, we worked more on our balance, some work with no stirrups. I actually had to pull her back quite a few times she was so forward, she wanted to canter and canter and canter. I took her for a few(two nice transitions, two sloppy ones), meaning I got to work on my adherance while she had fun! I'm not working on anything advanced, I'm trying to strengthen the basics!
OOH! She didn't buck ONCE!! =D I love that pooony. I feel bad that my faith in her started to falter, but, never again!

Mels great! We can use my Blazer for the bottle drive. And we can probaly have another tickets sale. It won't be in time for the show at the end of the month, but we can aim to have the money for the Canada Day Show.

Yesterday was a "relaxation day" for us, and we went on a 2 hour trail ride with Maria and Jessica. We only had a few slow gallops though, because I didn't want to make her sore. (Thanks for letting me gallop Champ, Jess!) Today I thought it was going to rain so I took her out and lunged her instead. She was good, and all we did was walk-trot. I didn't want to have to fight with her, so let it go at that. Tomorrow we have a lesson. yay!
