lunged sky for a half hour today and did some desentizing with ropes.
she did excellent with both of this except in the first bit of the lunging she decided she didnt want to go the left but once she realized that i can turn when she turns to keep her going she gave in and lunged like a well behaved pony

sky is now in the hands of one of my cousins from toronto for the summer.
im working at cache rapids for the summer, so sky is left home and my cousin that was in riding lessons for years and is training her own horse came here from toronto yesterday and im letting her ride/work with sky for the summer.
but on the bright side, im riding tetley again

i havent updated in a while!
my cousin just ended up riding star this summer and she left to go back to toronto early so didnt have much time to ride anyways, so sky has basically had the summer off besides for whatever rides i posted on here before now, and 2 since ive been home!
it seems to me the more time i give her off the better she is the next ride! its strange. but thats not saying im going to give her more time off when i have the time to ride her! riding is always more fun!
the 2 rides that ive done with her since ive been home were both definatly improved rides! i rode her w/j/l
she did excellent w/j, but when i asked her to lope the first time she did a little hoppy thing of hers, no buck no rears just hopping around. she did it the second time, as well when i asked her again but other than that the ride was excellent. i was very pleased.
she seems to be alot less nervous of vechiles as well, and also quads/dirtbikes/rhinos etc!
she did have one little scare at a quad but she just kind of trotted away from it ! no bolt or nothing, i guess she just didnt feel comfortable at the distance she was to it plus everyone know that loud noises are horse eating monsters haha.
anyways, overall im very pleased with how well she has been doing! ive had her almost 1 year and 5 months now but taking it slow with her is the way it needs to be.

i lunged sky the ther day with no tack on and she did excellent
i lunged her todya with tack on and she did great and then i took her for a ride. it wasnt one of the best rides because all she was focused on was star crying out in the background but other than that she did great, it was pretty windy and that didnt bother her, she went through the water fine, and birds flying out infront of her that would normally make her skittish she was fine with so even though she was distracted the whole ride and trying to call back out to star it was still overall an ok ride!

were buying a horse trailer tomorrow, so now i will be able to work on sky's trailer issues! ... she had quite the experience when she came to me in 2009... calvin brought her out in his box trailer.. a wooden one that went on his truck.. and he trailered her out in a windstorm, and didnt call to let us know he was even comming, so anyways on the way out in the windstorm the top blew off of it and sky had to come the rest of the way so it should be interesting trying to get her in a trailer again

took sky and star for a trail ride today with lucas, and sky did excellent! cant complain on my part, it was one of her best rides! passed a car and she was fine, went through all the water, didnt spook at anything.
then we tried to get her on the trailer for the first time since she was on one last april.
it took 3 hours but we finally coaxed her on with food haha. we left her in there to eat some hay for a half hour then let her back out!
now just to see if she will get on it again tomorrow!

sky was doing excellent walk/jog today so i decided to encourage her into a lope and she got 2 strides in and then the leather breaks and i go flying!
it didnt hurt but i was annoyed because this is the first time i loped her in months i believe! and i couldnt even continue with it because of the saddle

Got my english saddle in the mail yesterday (HDR), so today my sister and i went for a trail ride! she rode star and i rode sky.
we passed 2 vechiles and she was awesxome around them, not scared at all!
we rode w/t/c!
she's finally getting comfortable with the idea or more cantering and she did great!
i was sooo so sooo pleased with how well she did today!
she also wnt through this big water puddle thing that was about a foot deep and didnt hesitate at all, she seems to really like the water now! but it was good thing it wasnt too cold out.
overall i couldnt believe how well she was!
oh, and i love the saddle too

Justy took sky for a ride and it was the best ride i've had on her since i've owned her!!
It was quite windy, and she didnt mind it at all.
It was just me and sky this time, i figured she would act up without star there but she was excellent!
We went walk/trott and canter with no hesitation at all! I was expecting a buck, but she went on like she had done it a million times before!
Her transitions were great for not much work on them!
We also worked on giving vertically at the trott, and she responded great!
Also she decided that she wasnt scared to jump puddles while cantering and jumped 3.. haha

Overall i was very, very, very proud of her and i hope she keeps up this good work!
