lol I agree, people should clean up after their horse's poop. Why shouldn't they?

I also agree, I had to do it out home, why not in here? I'd just ride around, and when I got back to the barn I'd take the car and a shovel and scoop it into the ditch.

hmmmmm,we all kow that horse manure is organic waste, unlike dog manure.today we went on a 2 hour trailride,so do we walk the whole trail afterwards with a wheelbarrow and shovel to clean up manure?what about the mounted police in the city?they don't clean up after their horses.i was recently in nyc and the mounted police and mounted park people do not have poop bags, there was poop in central park!!!omg!!!so why is it such a crime in a rural area to have organic waste on the off-roads that is gone with the next rainfall??i really don't get it.city peolple move here and expect the place to turn into a city.do the people of the goulds complain about manure on the roads?no.cause they moved there knowing this was a rural area and this is what happens in a rural area.sorry, just gotta spout!!one of the people in this picture was me,and it pisses me off that everyone AND THEIR DOG wants to come and feed and pet my horse and look at it walking down the road, but heaven forbid the thing poop!how do you carry a bag of horse poop with you to your destination?maybe the people that leave their garbage uncovered so it can blow all over the place are trying to create a smokescreen?!?!?!?

I've always done it out of respect to walkers, joggers, etc
Keeps the neighbors happy. And if they expect dog owners to do it, wouldn't it be wrong not to expect it out of us owning horses.
I used to carry a dustpan in my saddle bag to scoop it into a ditch, or off the path!

Ive always cleaned it up....always. I live in Bauline, and I also cleaned it when I lived in Torbay, and when I boarded at any barns.
Depending now on where it is..I obviously wont be walking an hour into the woods..but I do get off and kick it out of the way..into the ditch/woods..etc.
If it's near my house, or especially on the road..I either walk or drive back and throw it in the woods or ditch with a pitchfork.

If they do pass the by-law im sure you can buy poop bags! I have travelled everywhere with horses, In NewYork City the horses wear poop bags to catch anything bc they have no ditches or feilds to throw it in! Just amagine those super stars walking in poop with their 400.00 shoes on lol! The Police horses their use them too. Just would have to do a bit of research to find where to buy them!

To clarify, I mainly rode on the roadside out home, so I'd go back with the car and a shovel to scoop it into the ditch. If I were in the woods on a trail ride, I'd let it be.

On trails i would let it be, i think the only concern is in public streets and walk ways!

i agree about the public places esspecially neighborhoods, but it's a bit ridiculous to think i'm walking for 2 hours to get to manure.if the bylaw is passed the throwing it into ditches doesn't fly either.

When Zam was home in Topsail, when we hacked out I always went back after and shoveled her poop off into the woods. Even when we were on the railway bed... it's only a bit of consideration to everyone else using the walk/road ways.... I wouldn't leave my dogs poop around so why would I leave my horses.

I think this is just plain funny!!!! Horse poop is not like dog poo, it is gone after a rainfall, and it is a bit of a pain to have to walk your trail and get your poop. If people can not see it then they must be blind!!! this is people who have nothing any better to do with their time, come on!

my boyfriend lives on brighton place in CBS and theres always poop in his road. I have to say its quite unsightly, not to mention disgusting for people walking. CBS isnt like the goulds. the goulds is all agricultural farm land. topsail/cbs is becoming one of the fastest growing/developing communities around st. john's. I wouldn't be surprised if in the next few years they didnt allow horses.
