well im goona start a training log for her now, first of all lady is a percherion cross quarter horse 15 years old.i am gonna start lunging her daily and get her use to some commands, she does good while lunging and knows her walk trot and gallop.she stops good when i tells her to whoo as well.but both of us will be learing togather which will be good, and she do have her days to when she comes in heat, which i hate.she busted through the fencing and took of the other day with the foal looking for the stud(chip) which she never got thank god for my van and the gas peddle lol.she is worst then a stud when in heat.but i am planning on doing some ground work and see how she gets on with that.then later down the road im gonna start teaching her free hand lunging which i know will take a long time lol,but it will be fun for both of us and we each can learn, and build a stronger relationship then ever.she is really good with me and listens well, but anyone else well lets say she don't like very many others fooling with her.she thinks she is the queen of horses sort of speak lol. i will let you guys know how it is comming along and maybe post a short video of her lunging later next week.she may be friskie in doing it so soon where she got spray nursing from her, but he might just love running along side of her as well.

Well I haven't posted about her progress yet so I figured I should start doing that more. Her lunging has improved and so has her ability to follow voice commands. I am very happy with her progress on this so I am going to start with her moving away from leg pressure which Ive done for the first time today. I had to do it a few times before she properly understood what I wanted her to do. I only did pressure on the left side today and will continue for the next week. I'm going to start at the rigtht side next week for a week and see how she reacts. Hopefully if all goes well in the next two weeks then I will change up the sides daily to see if she properly responds to both or if she will only do one side more then the other. She is a very fast learner and is pretty cooperative in doing a certain task that I want her to do. Lately though I am having trouble getting her to stand still to mount, which I've never had trouble with before. So I'm wondering if this is just due to the foal nursing from her or if there is another issue causing this. maybe shes just sick of me and hates the fact of me riding her with the foal around. She is perfectly content until she sees me coming with the saddle, then she gets preety annoyed and walks away from me which she has never done since i've owned her. But overall I am very happy with her. We have a very unique bond that a human and horse will ever have we can both read each other pretty well. I can tell whe she is having one of those bad days and she seems to know when Im having mine as well. She has come a very long way since I've owned her. Before I got her she was used in the woods and only ridden bareback 2-3 times. However the frist time I've ever ridden her she did great I couldn't of asked for a more better riding prospect then her.

Sherry it may be a back issue. Make sure everything is fitting properly. Also, She had essentially back to back pregnancies. How long did you wait for her to heal after having Spray to ride her? I wouldn't want to ride until the foal was weaned, obviously she'd be healed before then. I can understand wanting to get back in the saddle asap but well, if your daughter was still a baby would you want to have to worry about pleasing someone else(I'm betting not, I'd put my money on you giving them a swift kick in the ass, lol)?

well. i haven't done anything with lady in a while due to the shitty weather were having here in bonavista;rode her the other day she was great never had a hitch with her at all.now spray on the other hand is steady jumping over things lol not sure if this is good or bad,he jumped a rope fence about 2 1/2 feet lol might have a jumper on my hands lol. Lady she corroperates perfect.i loves that horse more then anything,i hopes she lives a long long life yet because it will break my heart when her time comes to go.i know i will never find another horse like her in a million yeras. she is a really different horse then when i first bought her.when i lead her around all i have to do is speak to her or say whoo and she stops perfect. i have been keeping her barefoot now for several months as well, just wanted to see how she would react to no shoes on,her holves were a bit tender at first but now she is perfect. tried riding her like this as well and she was great not a limp in her.thinking about keeping her barefoot all winter not sure yet but maybe just to see how it turns out,but with our kind of weather we gets here just might have to put them on just for winter. before only once she would not stand still for me to mount on her, she would walk away from me and i would have to try to catch her in the garden lol. the past few times i ridden her, she has been great so i was just thinking that she just didn't want to be ridden or fooled with at that time due to having the foal nursing and that. And once again she is over that thank god. All i wish is that she was younger, got a few rails down on the ground and goes over them with her. fisrt she would knock at them when troting over them but now i must say she is responding very well.just wondering how far apart would i need them maybe they are to close, what other kind of stuff can you put down for horses to go over i wonder or if it was good to put them up a bit on something just a few inches.i ride western as for now but next year i will get an englsh saddle,i was gonna get one for christmas but called that off again.gonna wait till after the winter is over. i would like to do some western stuff but would like to know what kinds of stuff is out there to do.i just want something to do thats fun and fool around a bit with it,out in my riding area. i know that lady will do whatever she is asked to do and will take any task giving to her and me as well.if i knew what kind of stuff to do i would deffintily read up and watch .hope i made sense there in what i worte it is hard to explain when writting it down lol. Well over all lady is a babe and she is to smart for her own good lol,she responds very well to me and is a excellant horse even for begginers.lady was the first horse my daughter has been on by her self, she got on i showed her about the reins and what they were for and how to use them.with just a lunge line on her and lunged her around a bit and lady was an angel and jenelle was super.
