Im sorry what is the relevance of stallions being permitted... Glad you guys are doing a show Stallions are not allowed to show here in NL. Some people are starting to allow them though, which is great. Ya can't proove how good a stud is if he can't show, even if it is locally.

It isn't Newfoundland that does not allow the stallions, it is the show organizers. There is no set of rules anywhere on how to run a "Newfoundland" show. I am sure there are some shows on the mainland that also do not allow stallions in their show. Breed shows are generally (but no exclusively) where you see the studs. Most western shows are breed shows anyways except for the reining shows. Perhaps soon we need to have a breed specific show, with special classes for certain breed. We definitely have enough paints and quarter horses to have a combined show.

Basically, if you own a stallion, you cannot show it. Or could not. The rules are changing, as they should.

Maybe someone should start a new thread on the subject of showing stallions? That way we do not clog up this thread?
