It starts by getting a phone call at 7:00am this morn saying that bueno has rope burns on his back legs and there is swelling! Here i find out that he was tied on a rope yesterday and left unsupervised!!!! This person was told that bueno has never been tied, but he still went ahead and done it! So i get to the barn, and here comes the tears he is now in worse shape then when i first got him.So much for the new saddle i wont be riding anytime soon! His legs and hocks are the size of soccor balls and it looks like his legs were set on fire!!! All rope burned flesh and he is totally cripled!! Not a happy camper my poor old man! Needless to say i will be moving him out asap! To even make it better the vet is gone out of provience! Trying to get some Bute for the old man.Wish me luck!!

That's heartbreaking! Why do some people think you can tie a horse out like a dog???

Call Dr Peacock, he's in carbonear and serves that area, he's excellent. He's in the phonebook as the provincial vet office!

Oh no! Roxy has a majorly bad rope burn on her hind leg too! She did it before we got her though, so now it's completely healed (it kind of feels like a chestnut, except it circles the back of her fetlock and is an inch thick). She used to be sore on it, but now she's best kind.
Wonderdust is really wonderful for healing. (ha, pardon the pun) He'll be fineee!
