There has been some discussion about hosting a show. I would like to know what you would like to see, as far as classes offered. Possibilities are endless, but keep in mind that there need to be a couple of people capable of competing at the level you want...[I'd LOVE to put off a 4' jumper class...but is isn't going to happen, because no one would go in it !!] So....post away !!! Reiners...if there is interest in that...I am not sure the footing will be adequate...can there be a modified class, where the slide isn't required....or something??? Help ?

for western I'd love to see trail classes, with a bridge, gound tieing, gates & such. Can't help you with any ideas for modified reining classes though.

For western, Trail class, Horsemanship/riding pattern, and command are my top choice! For english, hunter under saddle and equitation classes suit me just fine! Command is also fun english!!

Katrina might be able to help with the reining shows. She's got reining footing.

i would so do i 4' jumping class if you had one....and i would also do more jumping classes if you had them.....and if were going to have a english hunter jumper kind of show you should have high classes like 3' 3'6" and 4'.. hights like that would be really fun....

I am not sure how many people are schooling at the 4" level, not many that I have seen.

Yes, that's my point. It isn't feasable to offer classes for one person. It is too much work to plan a class, book a qualified judge, order the ribbons, design a course, measure the distances, have all the jumps cleaned and ready, only to cancel because no one is really ready for it. Steph., the show would be at a specific place, not at Katrina's. Reining, I know, has specific requirements for footing, which is why I mentioned it. I am seeing a lot of interest in Equitation, which is wonderful, as the type of horse has less impact on the placings...and we can't all ride a million dollar horse !! Keep 'em coming. It is important to provide something YOU are intered in. I already KNOW what I like !!

I agree ridersup, more equitation classes.. western & english divided up into age groups.. somewhat... rather than showhack & roadhack etc., Could there even be a class where riders are judged by their equitation while going through a small jump course?

Yes, there are even Eq O\F Point and Medal classes. It is possible to offer almost any class with an Equitation type judging. Dressage\hunter\western\obstacles\bareback and so on. The scoring just reflects the riders ability...more so than the horses'.

You could always do a freestyle reining pattern and just remove the stop as a mandatory requirement. Not sure how else would get around it.. But without the stop you're going to have to eliminate the rollback for the most part.
