back to the arena tonight.have been saddling him past few days with zero issues.tonight i lunged him with saddle.bit spooky due to the wind at first but settled really well.next step is bridle+saddle.he is doing really well learning to stand still when frightened,gives a jolt and just stands there.time and patience has been paying off so far.he's not the type of horse to just bring into the arena and get on,but he is settling quicker and after a few minutes is really listening well,looking for directions and concentrating on what he is doing.

took kaboom out last evening.saddled him(loose in paddock,didn't budge)put on his bidle with no issues.i was a little surprised as this is a new bit-going from an o ring to a full cheek snaffle-thought he'd feel a little claustrophobic in it at first,but he was fine and chewed away at it after a few minutes.unable to get to the arena due to time restraints and unexpected situations,but i will get there tomorrow.he is understanding the figure 8 pattern when lungeing and really calm when working.

saddle+bridle+side reins tonight.went around like a dream,can't believe how good he was.tossong his head a little at first on the side reins,but only about 2 mins,then settled down and figured out how to hold his head for the release.at the end we did about 10 mins on giving to pressure-minimal contact on the rein and he was sooo rsponsive.gonna get out tomorrow evening and repeat the same things.i'm so proud of him,he has been so accepting of everything i have done with him so far,i haven't had any problems whatsoever,so i have to watch myself and try not to rush him too much.

Souds great Karen, I found lunging Red in side reins really helped him too.
