I started leasing Cloud a little bit ago but haven't had much of a chance to do a lot with her yet due to MUN. Now that I'm off the the weather is getting nice I wanted to keep track of our progress and post pictures for Brenda and whoever else is interested to see.
April 21 - Me and Jen went up groomed and went to take Cloud and Buck out for a ride. Buck did not get very far because everything is new and scary again after winter. I got Cloud out after a bit of reluctance. She was a bit jumpy because she was alone and the race horses and trucks were a little unfamiliar. I walked with her around the arena a bunch of times until she calmed down. I got on and we walked some more just doing halt transitions and a lot of circles. She calmed down a lot then and was much better. She seemed full of energy but paced a bit when I asked her to trot. Instead of fighting with her or letting her pace I lunged for a bit to get some energy out. She does trot on the lunge line. We grazed for a few minutes and then headed back in.
April 22 - I headed up without a lot of time to get much done. I just did a few things around the barn, tried on a halter and lead I bought her. Then I went out and let her graze for probably a hour while I groomed. We made a fine mess with all the shedding she is doing. She was very impressed with the love and no work she got today.
April 23 - Groomed and grazed all day. It was super nice out and I was reading a book while Cloud ate.
April 24 - I went up early and groomed, longed, and rode. We did a lot of halting on the lunge line, and a bit of trot. I am also working on a pretty short rope so I can teach her to stay at the end of it and not fall in. When I rode we worked on a bit of bending, paying attention, halt and reinback transitions. After she worked I made a temporary fence and let her run around and roll. She got filthy so I gave her another long groom before I left.
April 25 - Me and Joey went up and groomed, I lunged, grazed, and then let her out to run for a bit. She was running next to me when I ran along the fence which was pretty cute. Every time I stopped and changed directions so did she. Then of course I had to groom again because she was after rolling.
I have no idea where this pony came from. He was up at the track randomly and super cute.
