I just about died laughing at this.
Its also not uncommon at Rainbow for any of us to stop in on our way out somewhere, all dressed up. I went up from a wedding once because one of the horses was colicking - same thing, in a dress and heels!
I too agree ... I'm obviously a horribly spoiled rich brat, because I happen to be at a barn that has an indoor arena and a coach.
What fearless may (or most likely not) know about me is that at Rainbow we fundraise and work our asses off to keep that barn (15 horses 2 goats and 2 cats) going and we earned every cent that went into our nice arena... and in ontario at AppleHill, I bust my ass doing chores so that I can ride my horse and I take public transport and bum rides off people (bribing them with cookies, good company and hilarity haha) just to get there.
Yes. We are all horribly rotten spoiled brats.
Hey Em? Wear your UGGS proud ... who gives a sh*t.

I can also see where fearless is comming from though. I remember the first time I went to look at AEC, and to ask about getting lessons (my firast time). They were holding their Heritage Show, and it was the last one where they had english. Well, I was really intimidated because there were a few girls prancing around in their english gear, making some rather snotty remarks. Now not that it was an english thing. It was just english classes being held. I've also been to barns where no one would even look in my direction, let alone say hello, or ask if there was something they could do for me. I even had one staff member sweep the dirt off the floor right over my feet. Extremely ignorant. And I've heard plenty of remarks from all disciplines that have made me think "what a spoiled brat". Fearless, most people on here work hard for their horses. I have 7 of my own. I have boarders to pay for them. So I bust my butt all day long, just to keep my horses. I hardly ever get to ride, and haven't had a lesson in eons. But I get to sit in the barn in the morning, sipping on my coffee, and listening to the horses happily munch their hay. There are alot of good people on here. Yes you will find the occasional brat that thinks the world revolves around them, and no horse is better than theirs. But for the most part, the people on here are willing to offer the knowledge they have, help when they can, and learn from others. I encourage you, if you haven't already, to get out and meet some of the folks on here. I bet you'll change your mind

oh absolutely, a few bad apples spoil the bunch alright, and I too have heard NASTY comments being made about things as trivial as being unable to afford matching tacketc, like helllooo, unless we were born with the silver spoon, I think we've all been there at some point, also nasty remarks about our STB's and even about the places we originate from. Good gawd, this is a small community and I hardly know most of you but we should support each other no matter the background we come from...one common point...love of horses. I think Fearless got jaded by something......couldn't have been Emily's Uggs that started this. Steph I hear you on the shopping in barn clothes, I went to Walmart last week and I had on barn hat, breeches, dirtydirty coat etc and Gary said'you aren't really going in like that?'...I was a touch paranoid then until the girl walking in front of me....WAS WEARING SAME THING...breeches and rubber boots!!!! Well I just had to chat with her then!lol

Oh, my most recent pair of winter boots cost 20 bucks. Why? Cause I spent all my money on the damn horses!
Got myself a nice pair of hand-me-down barn jeans though!

haha Becca -- The subway staff at Churchill square know when the rainbow girls have arrived because of the dirty clothes we wear every time we are there. Sometimes I'll make sure i'm wearing breeches and field boots (a time or two, even spurs!) to get a rise out of people! haha

I went to Tims once during a show. I had on my cowboy hat. I got lots of stares and I could just hear their thoughts. "She must be down from Alberta Luh"
Although my NEA jacket had gotten alot of comments and questions!
