..... So...I really can't afford lessons because I'm in Collage and my mom doesn't even approve of me helping at the stables. But maybe come spring I will have money. I talked to my (ex)step- dad (who my mom hates basically but he raised me and I love him and I call him Dad and nothing less) about it. He gave me money for my birthday and I had some left over so offered the idea to him. He said it was to late in the season but he's definitely approved of it come spring. So for now, I learn as much as I can through Joan and anyone at the stables. My heart really thanks Ruth who lets me ride there after lessons and I try my best to do as much as I can in those few hours that I'm there. As I'm only a newbie I really don't know much, I attended CSR(Circle Square Ranch) for six years but they seriously taught me nothing. They don't even teach you to sit properly in the saddle. So after watching a few lessons, and jumping on Ginger Boy afterwards I've learnt a lot in the short few weeks I've been going to CRS. So far I've been working on:
- Walk to Jog transitions - Jog to walk transitions - Sitting a Jog - Basic things as relaxing, sit position, heels down type of thing.
Ginger Boy has been really good. Last time I didn't even need a crop to get him to loupe and I couldn't stop smiling ^_^. Joan said I looked a lot more relaxed in the saddle and I was doing well with keeping my heels down.
Yesterday, I had a great little trail ride. The fields we went around we beautiful and the weather was awesome. I just wanted to gallop through the field. Afterwards I did a little work in the stalls cleaning them out and had an overall great time...too bad winter is coming and I may not get to ride. So I can't wait till spring ;D
Oh I forgot to mention, My dad was out and droped me off at CRS before he left for his four hour ride back to Gander. I totally ditched him and jumped on Ginger Boy because they were all about to leave. Dad didn't mind though he knows I'm nuts for those horses he just laughed at me and left.
Anyways...yupp will post next week if I get out hopefully. I hope the Snow hangs off XD.

Awhh .. CRS. I used to ride up there everyday! I miss Yogi so much. I got really busy during the summer, babysitting and traveling and then school started and I've been trying hard to study and keep my marks up and I just haven't had time. Hopefully, i'll get a chance to come up soon and meet you. And I totally agree, Ruth is awesome. What's a couple of barn chores for a free ride? Or even just to spend time with my baby. Haha, anyways, hopefully we'll meet soon. I'm sarah btw.

...I reallllllly wanna see my boy now exspeacially after watching the first like 20 min of heartland ep. 1 Okay so this is a reallly crappy poem cause I know I can do SOOOO much better I am a amuetter poet so this really sucks compared to my usual...like I said in the last bit..it's just something you can't put into words...I wish I could hold my boy ...lol its funny how I'm a poet and I can't spell for the life of me XD. October 24th, 2007 Friends Free I feel free upon your back, the wind in my hair closing my eyes I let your roam, I trust you. I smile and reach my arms out wide. Leaning down, I sweep your mane from the soft of your neck; kissing it gently with love and care. You perk your ears as I say your name, leaning down grasping the reins, I whisper in your ear: "Lets go!". Well, with that you take off; I grin and ride free my thoughts flow from my mind And all ease takes over. I hold on tight and let you go, I can here your breath in my ears, The pound of your hooves in sync with my heart. We race together through open fields your breathing is heavy but you continue on. We come to the woods were you trod so carefully so that not a branch hits me. We chase and dance around the butterflies laughing and giggling as we go. No words can describe the feelings that I feel for you, No words can describe how much I truely love you. Being on your back saves me, being your friend makes me...free.

Oct. 27th/07 (Saturday) ... Had a great little Trail ride on Ginger Boy done today ^_^. No training but I brushed and groomed him and overall petted him down as much as I could. I know this is really small and stupid but I was able to put his bridle on by myself today. I'm so short and my hands are so small it's really hard for me sometimes to reach under or over there heads and use my hand to expand the bit...my hand is to small and my arms are too short...but I did it so I was proud. Especially with the way I've been feeling lately I think I accomplished a lot today even though I did so little. When we went on the trail ride Ginger boy was very good. We went to lope-ish and he kind of was in transitions between a gallop to keep up with Joan and Cassandra and a lope so it was quite bumpy to say the least. He wanted to Gallop I could feel that, but he would have past Cass and we didn't want that. but over all good boy ^_^ It was funny because Cassandra's and Joan's baby's have such a big stride and my boy has such a tiny one he has trouble keeping up so after catching up then, their horse take three to four strides were behind again. HaHa...got some nice pictures today I hope to get developed and put on sometime this week. My pink and purple lead pony lead rope is in so I can't wait to get my hands on it, its so pretty! hehehe and my purple riding gloves ^_^ I hope I get to ride Ginger Boy again before the snow comes and they get put in pastures for the winter Can't go next week to many assignments hopefully winter is late this year. Thanks to Joan for her rides and help/instruction again and big thanks to Ruth for letting me help out and ride a bit ^_^ I owe them both so muchly .... ~Ash

... Mmmm... Ginger Boy ended up becoming lame last Friday due to a puncture wound in his left hind leg on the cannon/hock area...soooo it means I won't be able to ride him till after the winter and maybe later So this Saturday I rode Maggie instead, she was a little stubborn at first but after warming up really did quite well. I don't know how many more rides I will get in before the winter and they all go up to Goose Arm. Worked on basic transitions to walk and jog vice versa Sitting the jog...attempted to post but lost interest in it before I got any serious attempt to it. HeHe Maggie kept trying to go to the centre and not stay on the wall so it was funny and kinda frustrating...I love her to bits though. Um walked her out a bit in the arena then took her to the round pen getting off and walking her around just talking with her and cuddling. It was nice I hadn't really gotten to see her since this summer. I love the way she cuddles but I tried to make her keep a good distance and not get in my personal space. Oh and I was extremely proud cause well this is kinda small but big for me haha. I bridled both Maggie and Deats XDD Deats kept putting his head up but I was like..noooo I'm so not giving up and well I did it XDD such a silly me but hey, I'm short and new and deats is huge and well yeah Xd I win!! I'm hoping even if I can't ride Ginger Boy that I will be aloud just to walk him at a slow pace (once he's a bit better and standing on four legs instead of three...which he is quite good at mind you) around the round pen and just cuddle and spend time with him. If I'm able to ride next week I may try Shine again. I don't know who really is a good fit for me size wise cause I'm so short, and training wise I guess. Shine is okay, he's cute and lovable and such an "old school master", but I don't know. Laura and Tia.....mmmmm.... I've been told Deat's has a bumpy jog/trot ...so I donno..\ Thanks to Joan for her entertaining rides, support, info, teaching me new things and stuff And Thanks to Ruth for letting me ride and help out there while teaching me new things .... ~Ash
