I rode Paddy again and he decided that he wanted to bolt out of the barn, kick me and then avoid getting caoght. It was pretty bad and embarissing.. Don't sweat it , we've all been there.. happens to me all the time, horses running away and such.. but remember that EVERYONE in that barn has been there at some point and we all know how it feels and that horses do very much have a mind of their own.. but over all it sounded like a good lesson, I love english !

Hahaha, I can see Paddy doing that I rewmember once Paddy had just been used in a camp and me and Kelsey were asked to untack him really quickly. The person who asked us left the stall door open just a little bit( and who can blame her? your supposed to do that if your in a stall with a horse!). Anyway, just as we were undoing the girth, the little idiot/moose squezzed through the open door and took of half trotting half cantering out the back ailes of Clovelly!!!! Me and Kelsey ran after him and we spent a good solid hour swearing at him and trying to catch him! lol It was funny 'cause just as we got him back in his stall Julia MacDonald (who at the time leased Paddy) came down to the barn. The first thing she did was coo over Paddy and tell him he was such a sweet boy, while me and Kelsey exchanged glances and were trying not to strangle the little guy hahahahaha good times with Paddycakes

I'm not positive if this counts as training but it did invlove me learning how to lunge ( kind of I went over to see Bonnie and Roussau with Maria and we spent about an hour over there. Roussau is absolutly adorable! He is still pretty small and hes timid to, but after a while he got used too us and started nuzzling our faces. He is just to cute. After seeing them we went down to Cloverdale to say hi to Connor. While Maria rode him I watched and talked to the other horses there. After we decided to lunge Barney. For those who dont know him, Barnay is a tny miniature who is nuts. At least he is while lunging. Maria showed me how to lunge him and I did ok for a bou a minute and then he went crazy. He started galloping in a circle and Maria had to toke him back casue he was going way too crazy. We junoed over some jumps and hes really quite good at them. He is one spunky miniature

so I had a lesson yesterday and I rode Sam. The only thing we did (and I mean only!) was walk in a circle and try trotting every once and a while. The reason: every time I tried trotting, little miss sam would take the bit and run. Shes pretty hard mouthed from having kids pull on her mouth and her bit was too big for her, so it wasnt really her, or mine, fault. That is waht I did for a full hour Hopefully my lesson next week will be better

so i had my lesson yesterday and it was sweet. I rode cabot...hes such an adorable pony ... we did a lot of follow the leader types of thing, and I was at the back rigth behind Sam. For half the time i was terrified that sam was going to flip out cause Cabot had his nose pretty much up her but, but thank god she didnt. We only did walk and trot turning on the long side, and doing something called "thread the needle" it was hard but really really fun . We did alot of control too. It was almost funny how much Cabot was sweating during our lesson, he is soooo out of shape Anyways hopefuly more next week

Best lesson ever:) After we warmed up we started poles at trot and canter working on two-point and realeases. After about 30 minutes Liz set up a cross rail and we did jumping!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so exited and nervous because I hadnt jumped before, and it was sooooo much fun . A couple of times I almost forgot two release and I almost fell off but the last jump me and Cabot did was really good. Cabot is such a good jumper, he over jumps a little bit but he was good for a beginner like me Yay x10

Don't take it to heart Ruth..he's done it to me several times. He bolts out of the barn and runs away then when you get close he bucks at you and runs away again. Or should I say..rolls away. He's a fatty.
