Even though I dont lease or own a horse, I take lessons so im going to make a training lg about my lesson Yesterday was my first lesson of the fall session at clovelly and my coach was Liz We started out by warming up with some walk and some trot. Sam was being pretty forward, but she stil had trouble turning left. Then we did walk and trot standing up in the stirrups, then in two point with arms out to the side. After that, Liz wanted us to show what we could do at a canter. By that time Sam had stopped turning all together, so I couldnt do very much canter. Then Liz made us dismount and switch horses. so I ended up on Cabby! We kinda tested each other, (me seeing waht kind of ride he was and him seeing what kind of rider I was) and I must have done something rigth because he started doing exactly what I asked himm too We finished the lesson doing soome more canter and a cool down. More updates next week

I started if the day by attempting to groom Cabbie. He was being pretty bratty by trying to bite me when I groomed him . After I had finished tacking him up, Liz put his polos on (lesson riders arent aloud or something like that) and we warmed up. Mr.Cabbie was pretty good but he kept on cutting corners. In the lesson we di long, short and medium strides at walk and trot, then going over poles doing long and short trotting strides. Our whole lesson we worked on control because then we had to canter over a pole, go to sitting trot then walk by the time we reached the fence. By the time the lesson was over, Cabbie and I had it down quite nicely I cooled him out after the lesson and put him in his stall and groomed him again ( this time succesfully and went home. more next week

ok so today I had my lsson and it was sweet I rode paddy ( hes sooo tiny lol) and we atarted of by doing some deep corners. After a few mminutes we had to ride without stirrups! I was the only one who hadn't ridden without stirrups before, but I wasnt half bad at it We walked and trotted and then we started doing leg yeilds at walk and trot. They were not easy... especially without stirrups. After doing leg yeilds for a bit we used our stirrups again and did MORE leg yeilds! After that we did dome more trot and canter work Paddy was being really good and I had no promblem getting him to canter ( hes a bit lazy sometimes) and he was listening fairly well. After that we cooled down and brought the ponies inside to give them supper

Your lucky that you live around stables. The closest stable to me that you can actually get a lesson at is 1 hour and 45mins away . Theres a place where you can go for trail rides around an hour away but they dont know anything about riding. Its a good thing that i can ride a couple privately owned horses

so my lesson was yesterday and it couldnt have been different then last weeks :S. I rode Paddy again and he decided that he wanted to bolt out of the barn, kick me and then avoid getting caoght. It was pretty bad and embarissing...and I ve officially decided that paddy isnt a horse, hes a little moose. After that fiasco I got him groomed and tacked up for my lesson without any mishaps after we had warmed up we worked on keeping equal distance between us and a partner, at walk and trot. I t wasnt to bad, but then we had to walk and trot in pairs, really really close to each other...and that was extremely hard. After wed done that we did some leg yeild with and without stirrups. After that we did somw cantering, keping equal distance between us and another rider ( like the fist drill) and that was fun. The only problem was that Paddy wouldnt go past a certain spot on the track when we were cantering. At first I thought that he was scared of something, but as it turns out he was just being a brat, and giving everyone a hard time. once wed cooled down i took him inside and gave him his grain and went home. end of story
