Yesterday I just spent some time with him. Fed him in the morning, went to my cousin's for a bit then went out and played. Ran around chasing after him and he seemed to be having fun. Also, touched him everywhere, flapped my jacket around in the wind around him, threw it over him just continued with desentising him. Today I did basically the same thing. Fed him breakfast, eat dinner then went out and just worked on the lead line, trotting around, halting, whoa, back and ran together over a few small jumps for fun. Then took off the lead and did some off lead work.
He's also on 24/7 turnout and seems to be LOVING it. He loves be outside, able to run around and see everything going on. He's doing really well with that.
anyway gotta go feed him supper now soon!

humm, saw him today. I had to go to whitbourne for a few days, and starting school sunday, so this next month will be hecktick. Once he get's out home though, and this september passes things will be ok again.
He's gained LOADS of weight and is doing awesome, and I still haven't uploaded the pictures yet, GAH! I will once I get into residence though, with the nice connection in town.
I had to stop working with him for a bit, lack of good facilities, but out home I have a great spot picked out to build an arena, just have to but the fencing up and it'll be great. Hopefully with that up more progress will be seen.
I just have to get through these next few weeks and get hime home, and this should start looking up!
Pics soon to come, sry all. They're on a cd, just have to upload and this computer is too slow [ haha and I left the cd home...] Maybe I'll go to the library tomorrow and try it there when I get in.

Been a bit since I've updated this...
A couple weeks ago, he was brought down from my nan's to our new house in Whitbourne. I wasn't present for the bringing down, [ : ( gah school ] but made sure to get all the details. He didn't want to go on, didn't really act up much. After a few min's of trying mom got some feed, and he just walked right in with her, haha good boy. He was great the trip down too.
I haven't seen him since I started school, and I am very sad about this fact. I only really got to send 2/3 week with him, but... In that time he came very far. We worked a lot on desentisization (sp?), on the lunge, and I just worked a lot on creating a bond. He's gained A LOT of weight, and he looks GREAT! Mom says he loves it out home, and him and her have really bonded a lot. He comes galloping over the hill when she whistles. It's great. Also, he's apparently become very close friends with my golden retriever Max, which is cool. The dog, the horse and the two cat all hang out together, and follow my mom around the yard. He likes to take runs up the path sometimes too.
Today I saw my mom and she was telling us a story about this past few days, can't remember which one exactly... Anyway, a huge beaver came down to the pond and hung around for an hour. Logan was down at the edge just watching him. The beaver would swim closer and closer and closer, and then slash his tail at Logan, and he'd gallop up the hill, or around the trees and hide from the beaver. And then I think he went back to the pond.. hahaha, I miss him. But I'm so happy he loves his new home. : )

Ok It's een awhile but I'm going to see him today and i'M SO EXCITED! hahaha I'm taking the DRL home for the day and I'm going to go check up on him. He had thrush 3 weeks ago, cleared up nice ad quick though and he's back to being his goofy self again. He runs around like crazy, jumps the ditch for fun, likes to run full speed at you and skid to a stop, then run way back and then back again : ) He walks himself to his stall, he's a huge souk (sp?) and way too cute. He lost some weight, so were upping his feed and adding beet pulp back in for the winter. He's getting 6 cups beet pulp, 4 BOSS and 2 equalizer twice daily.
I'm planning on working a lot with him today. Lots of lunge work and desentitizing, mostly a refresher course. Not much will be able to get done with him until spring though, so it's a patient waiting game.
Will get more pics!

I got so excited I forgot to take pictures! hahaha.
He pulled lame again, we don't kow what's wrong with him so it really sucks. Mom was going to give the farrier a call today, unfortunetly i left my charger home and my phone is dead so I can't reach her until she gets online or seomthing. He improved over the weekend. And turnout did help bit. The thrush seems to be gone, as far as I can tell. The medication was given to the full dose and the days are over now. He did improve, he was running and being a baby. But just got bad again. im rambling, but I'll let you all know more on that as I do.
Besides that, he a healthy little bugger. He's really happy, lost some weight with the cold, but we're on top of that. I spent lots of time just grooming him. I adjusted his new bridle on him, braided his forlock, and had him looking very nice, haha besides his furryness! Worked on head lowering and just chilled a lot.

Well, I was out home all weekend. Spent time with the boy, but also had to study. Got a nice long grooming session in with him on friday, he loved it. haha, introduced him to dakota, our uncle's setter pub who lives with us. Had some music blaring in the barn, he seems to like that too. Vet and farrier are both finally coming out tomorrow. vet first in the morning followed by the farrir in the afternoon. See if we can fix his lameness issue. Thrush healed up quick, but following that his left front became lame, and I'm very very sure its all on his horrible feet. god, waited a long time to get a farrier out, tried and tried and finally happening. So hopefully some sessions+shoes will fix him up nicely.
I've been working all weekend to with leaning some weight on him. Like standing on a chair, and leaning across his back. He let me, just was glancin and a reasuring word and treat did a good job. Also, Sunday afternoon I went out, and I used a pair of Logan's [the rubber boots with attached rubber pants that go up to your chest, that has the suspenders]. At first he backing away, suspicious of them. But I let him sniff them, and he calmed down then I put him across his back [like a rider with legs dangling down his sides bumping, and there's a nice weight to them too] and he was great! When I took them off I threw them on the ground and he was pawing and them and being silly. Brave boy.
I can't wait for Christmas break! I'll have so much time, and I won't have to study, and he should be sound by then. Itll be a good time to go at things.
wish us luck!

Sounds good! Haha...they had music and phones ringin one time when i was in Grand Falls when Logan was there...so if it was like that everyday in the barn than he should be pretty used to noise. lol

[insert choice of words can't be said on the forum] He has a damn abcess in his front. One way up there, hiding, gah. got drained. he's now on stall rest for a month atleast. 4 needles a day for the next 5 days, no work can be done with his hoofs, so they'll keep looking like piss. He was a monster to handle. I guess I find out his vet manners weren't taken care of. Just like his trailering manners [though he's an angel trailering now, just took a small bit of time]. I'm so livid right now I can't even express myself.
Gah! His feet are SOOO BAD, it took us forever to find a farrier that would come to us. We had my pop to a makeshit jobs and stuff, but he's not a farrier, he just did it with his own horse's back in the day. Finally we got someone, and now we can't get his feet done for two months the vet says>?? Won't that just be leading for more problems?
I'm scared and pissed off right now.
