OK! My training log. For the past 4 days i was at the barn. I didn't do much cause there was things on the go like Laura is here for shoeing. I learned a lot in 2 hours haha. But back to my riding, yesterday me and Kristen went on a 2 and a half hour trail ride in around a loop. I rode Star. It was SO much fun haha. She was so hyper so we loped a nice bit. It gave her and me a good work out we both needed! We had to go under and over trees every where! it was great! But im so sore. Today, I rode Star again but english! Its so weird cause where i ride western and HARD! i can barely do a rising trot! i must work on it haha! Well thats all for now!

Good luck with the rising trot- it IS hard to do when you arent used to it Perhaps get someone to lunge you so you can practise getting your right rising diagonal (rise when the outside leg goes forward- if someone hasnt already told you!), sitting two beats to change the diagonal, and also so you get used to not leaning on the reins or anything. I'm sure you'll get used to it really quick Eventually it becomes second nature and then you can go on to do rising CANTER.... perhaps my most favorite thing ever!

Haha...when i frist began riding english from western i didn't know what everyone was doing going up and down on their horses like that I remember thinking "why aren't you just sitting to the trot??" lol Best of luck the rising trot will come as second nature soon enough it just takes alot of practise!

Okay, I've started working with Phoenix. And just because i am not that of experienced of a rider, doesn't mean i don't know half of what i am doing with ground work. And i have people helping me : ). But yesterday, i brushed him and walked him around a lot and practiced his woah and making him just stand there as i walked away, he was good. and then i lunged him 10 minutes one way 10 minutes the other at a trot and then walked him for 15 minutes. Next time i go up i think i am going to saddle him and then unsaddle him after brushing him and trying to get all the mud off : P
