Wow i havn't updated this in a while!!! Well i rode on Wednesday with Kelsey and Jasmine. We had mini classes (comand and jumper) and Arielle was the "judge". Well i came 2nd on Paddy in comand just because we had to do a canter to halt transition and Paddy decided to keep cantering... so Kelsey and Jazzy one... woot woot super pony! Next we had to jumper(pole) classes we we did a pole course in canter.... I came last in that We did a second "jumping" course and i came second. There were alot of sharpe turns and the dare devil (jasmine) one. I came second and Kelsey came last because she walked the turns I went around the loop to cool out and then hosed Paddy off. Sarah Hall was at the barn so me, Sarah, Kelsey and Ruth just hung around the barn and what not. Overall my ride was a blast! -Elsabe p.s Kelsey and Jasmine we have to do that again sometime!!! Ok so I have TOTALLY forgotten about this There is only going to be 1 more update(not including this one) until i am don leasing Paddy I'll still be riding at Clovelly thought and i hope that Susan will still let me ride him in my lessons Well I had a jumping lesson yesterday, the highest we jumped was 2'. Paddy, Sam and Mavrick were already used in a lesson an hour before mine so they weren't that full of energy lol. We started off my lesson on a loose rein practicing control with our legs. The we picked up our reins and started to do some walk/trot/canter on a diffrent circles to be able to control our horses when we jump. Paddy was being very strong in the mouth and it took a while for me to get him in control again. After about 20 minutes of circles we started to jump a crossrail. Paddy was VERY good. Then Susan set up a coarse and we jumped it 1 by 1. After everyone did it once Susan made 2 of the jumpes a vertical. Everyone did somethhing wrong that time. For me it was that when i landed the vertical i wasn't wasn't prepared with my plan and Paddy decided to make his own and go the opposite way. I didn't fall of but i was close to it. Well to cool out me, steff and heidi went on a short hack. Paddy was REALLY sweaty when i got off so i hosed him down Here are some pictures: Warming Up Cross Rail (whenever you jump Susan always jumps with you in the background lol ) Heidi and Sam Me and Paddy Steff and Mav doing the 2' vertical Me and Paddy doing the 2' vertical More crossrail And hosing the little man off

Ok so yesterday was my last lease day with Paddy. I went to the barn and just spent some time with him before I groomed and tacked up. I did no stirrup work for a while and then took my stirups back and workd on some transitions. When he was trotting really well i asked him to canter. We did some trot/canter and walk/canter transitions. To cool out I went on a hack with Jasmin and Emily C. I hosed him down after and then said good-bye for another 10 days until i start doing lessons again I stuck him out in his feild and then went to graze Billy with Julia.

Does anyone have the baby pics yet?? Anyways I decided instead of starting a new training log i'll just continue on this one. Well I no longer ride Paddy. I don't even ride in Newfoundland. I moved to Brunei (close to Australia) and I've started riding a horse named Zamba (i have a pic somewhere...) Well it was about 35 degrees when I rode yesterday and I was longing for the cold We had a dressage lesson. My coach (forget his name) trained the royal family (like a king of Brunei) and he almost qualified for the Asia Olympics. Well we started of with a walk. Working on our postion. Then we gradually worked our way to trot. I was riding with another girl named Meg so i rode at one half of the ring and she worked on the other. Zamba is the toatal opposite of Paddy. With Paddy you have to MAKE him move but Zamba constantly goes faster than you want him to. I did alot of trot using the incorrect rein to slow him down, bend him, and get him listening to my hands. We also worked on fixing my sitting trot. I come pretty high out of the saddle and Zamba didn't make it any better. He kept trying to canter and acctually had to halt him, back him up and just stand there for 2 or 3 minutes. Well he started listening to me and then we did some canter trot transitions. He has this really smooth canter but when we were going large he kept going faster and faster trying to get to Meg's horse. I tried to stop him but he was just fighting the bit! I got pretty mad because he started throwing a tanrum. Throwing his head in the head, randomly skidding to the side and he almost bucked but i managed to halt him just in time. I did the whole backing up thing again and this time he stayed nice and quiet. He went into a nice frame and did the transitions perfectly. We cooled out and then went home. At this barn all you do is show up and they have the horse ready. You don't have to groom, saddle up or untack. It's kind of nice sometimes but the funnest party of going to the barn for me is probobly grooming because thats mostly when you bond with your horse. -Elsabe Pictures coming soon

Ok so i rode Zamba again today and I have so many blisters on my fingers from him pulling me with his head. He's got the strongest head on any horse I have EVER riden. Well we warmed up. W/T and in the trot we worked on getting our horses bending and some down-ward transitions. My coach ( i think his name is Indra) was saying that when you have your legs to far back you throw your upper body forward, causing your horse to do really fast trot. Well Zamba being the horse he is, decided that even if I do sit back, he wants to canter of and bite the other horses butt *rolls eyes* I did the whole halt.. wait thing and it didn't really work. Anyways I'll move on to the canter. We did some sitting trot and then when Indra shoted out "circle" we did a 10m circle and once we finished it was canter right away. I have a habit of leaning forward right away to check the diagnol but Indra said to wait, becuase Zamba tends to pick up the wrong lead if i check to soon. Well after abounch of those we cooled out and I went home
