Thanks for all the nice words guys. There's a show park near my new house that hosts a whole range of shows, from grand prix level to schooling shows. They have a fall schooling show circuit that Lucas and I might do. Lucas and Billy are settled in their new home in BC. They're at a boarding barn a few minutes from our house. I won't be able to ride for at least a week because I'm still not in BC . We've had some technical difficulties with our truck so we're going to have to fly out in the next couple of days.

I hope you guys all have a safe trip, you all have so much talent, I bet we'll see you on TV at Spruce Meadows one day!

Glad to hear that the horses made it safe and sound, (especially Billy, I know your mom was a little concerned about him!) and that you guys will be there soon as well. Take lots of pictures as soon as you can... good luck, xo

My internet is was just hooked up so I can finally update this! Lucas and Billy are being trailered down from the barn they were at to our property some time today. They were just at that barn until we got situated. The ponies are staying with us the summer and then I think we're moving them to a boarding barn in the fall. We're hopefully going barn hoping sometime this month to get a feel for the horse community here. Julia and I might be going in some lessons at another barn until our coach gets out to BC. That's a big 'might' though. I don't really know how everything is going to work out yet. The ponies didn't loose too much weight during the trip and both are healthy and happy. They'll gain back however much weight they lost once they get on the big grassy field by our house. I haven't ridden in two weeks and I'm dying to get back in the saddle. I'll post some pictures soon

I rode today!!! My sisters and I woke up at 7:30am and hopped on the ponies before it became too hot. The temperature has been in the mid 30's all week.
Lucas was a lot better than I thought he would be considering he's has a 2 week vacation. Just kept things simple today and worked on transitions, lengthening and shorting Lucas's stride, lots of figures and a little bit of leg yielding. I also did a bit of no stirrup work since I've had a two week vacation from riding too.
Lucas was very responsive to my aids. He did some beautiful walk-canter transitions, rolled back on his haunches and everything. He started to pull a bit around the end of my ride but I think he was just tired and wanted to stretch. I think I'm going to lunge him with side reins tomorrow to start working on gaining back the muscle he lost on the trip.

On Thursday I lunged Lucas with side reins to start building muscle back up. Then he had a break from Friday-Sunday because I was up at Milner Downs watching the horse show. Today I rode Lucas. I just did the basic stuff, w/t/c and a lot of figures. I kept my ride short because it was really hot out. Next Tuesday Julia and I are going up to a barn called Villa Training and meeting the head coach. We may be doing some lessons with her until our regular coach moves out to BC and gets settled and stuff. I'm really hope it works out. I haven't had a lesson since June (I know it hasn't been that long but I'm a lesson addict) so it would be great to get some lessons.
