don't under estimate the power of "the Ginger"...
She's tough, as Jess says "she's a Cormack horse!"

today, I again went to see horse... When I got there it was snowing a bit, so I thought it would be pretty to let her out in the round pen in the snow! It's also good for her to get some fresh air and to move around in the snow! After she was done walking and jogging and playing and rolling, I brought her in and brushed her down... saddled her up... and brought her to the indoor! We started off walking, then we did some jogging, lots of jogging actually. We did figure eights, serpentines, circles, we wandered around the arean at a jog practising leg cues... then I asked her to walk... We then went into a lope on the "rail". We did that both ways... I am soon going to start asking for speed changes on the "rail" and then eventually bring her into a small slow and a large fast... I then walked her for a bit. We did some turn on the forehand and haunch, both directions.. The turns on the haunch were good, but we both need work on the turn on the forehand... We also did a bit of leg yielding both ways, which went well... I try not to do too much of the lateral work and such, because I dont have spurs with me... I do have a few pairs, but they almost seem useless without tiedowns on them... So I figure the less I do, the less she will do wrong, therefore less corrections will have to be made.. (if that makes any sense...) I do plan on ordering spur tiedowns soon(along with a few other things) so when they get in I will be using spurs when needed... Then we did a bit more jogging work serpentins, figure eights, going everywhere... and then we walked out! Hopefully I will remember to bring my camera tomorrow! Lets hear what you think!?

today, I visited Ginger on the way home from visiting Moose and friends... I took her out and brushed her, picked out her feet and gave her some TLC I then took her out and lunged her for about 15 minutes (just to get her moving... didnt want her to be all cramped up in the stall) we did walk, jog, lope... She did well, wasn't too egar(spl?) to pick up the lope to the right but she did it anyways... silly Ginger! After that I walked her out and brushed her again... gave her a big hug and a kiss and a little treat! tomorrow I am hoping to get to ride... we shall see when tomorrow comes

today, I went to visit Ginger, she was in her stall waiting for food... . I took her out and brushed her, saddled her up and went riding. During our riding, we walked on the rail, jogged on the rail, did circles, serpentines, diagonals... (working on moving away from pressure, moving off of leg) and we loped on the rail. She did really well with all of this... The serpentines, circles and diagonals were done very well! I didn't expect her to do so well considering she was ridden with spurs this past summer(and I didn't have any on). We also decided to do some turn on the haunchs(which were fairly good) and some side passing! today was successful, hopefully we will get pictures from our next ride (just need to remember camera!) what do y'all think?

Just got back from the barn... After i brushed her and saddled her up, I took her out to the arena. I hopped on and we walked around on the rail, stretching her muscles and getting her "warmed" up... We walked both directions and then started trotting! We trotted on the rail in both directions, and then jogged both directions... We then started doing figure eights, serpentines, serpentines, and more figure eights , Then we started doing "speed changes" from trot to jog to trot to jog to... on the rail, and we also threw in some figure eights and serpentines... We then walked around a bit... then stoped and backed up, and walked again, did a figure eight stoping in random spots and either backed up or did a turn on the haunch, just to mix things up... We also did a bit of jog, stop, turn on the haunch, jog, stop, turn on the haunch, just a little bit... And then we walked out After I brought her back to the barn and unsaddled her, I brushed her really well and picked out those pretty hooves! I also applied hooflex to her feet! When I put her in her stall she had 3 nice pretty flakes of hay waiting for her! She was happy to see those flakes of hay! That was our day, what do you guys think? Anything we can change or add to our barn time together?? thanks for reading!
