Prancer and I cantered today for the first time in FOREVER. Before she went lame I wanted to work on mostly w/t stuff. Today, though, I wanted to see how she'd do with it since she started the MSM. Well, she did great. Her canter was better than her trot, which was really nice today. She keeps losing balance and just..trotting really, really fast =\(No, not pacing). Julie(smith) said to use more inside leg while cantering, and hold her up so she doesn't lose balance. So next time I do canterwork with her I will do that upppp.
Her trot! Her trot was great! She was moving half smoothly, I cropped her once, and get this, she didn't buck at all. Fixing this whole "legs back and on" deal has helped tremendously(Before, my legs just kinda...were..not lined up H/H/H)! So, woohoo, go pretty Prancer!!
Her saddle pinches her, so I'm buying a new one soon (hopefully Sarah P's!).
OOOH, one last thing. Prancer's used in the Tiny Trots program we offer and she is SO friggin good with the kids, I couldn't believe it! The cute little girl who rode her today was two, and was afraid to get on. She did after and jess lead them around and Prancer didn't get annoyed once. She was so good, I'm so proud of my girly!

Mel, she's coming along on the msm... in fact, Angela is putting Brandy on it as well! I rode her last night after school but it was to relax not ride- I'm in the middle of exams and soo tired of studying. We walked around or like a half an hour and trotted a couple times around the ring and that was it. Then it was back to hitting the old books!

It's great that Prancer's doing so much better on MSM:) And yes she was exellent with the kids, suprisingly!(sp?)

Today I went to see Prancer for the first time since Tuesday. She was upset with me for not seeing her in so long(not my fault, forced into going to cabin :]). Anyway, I went into her paddock and leaned against the fence, which is usually her cue to come over for a cuddle then go get ready to ride, so, I do that, and she just stares at me. I say "Come on" and motioned with my head and she put her head down by her leg and flicked it, everytime I motioned with my head she did that. Then she got fed up and stamped her foot. I gave in, anyway. I went and got her. So today I just spent time with my pony today, groomed her and hand grazed her. She's getting such a hay belly . She'll be mine as of September first!  |
