She was a doll in the show Gill. She went in the Open Novice and Green Hunter. Everyone was very impressed with her! I had a little visit with her because her and Freddy were right across from Gooseman's stall. Beauty was afraid of the sliding door, bless her soul!! Haha, when I opened the door to go say hi to Tasha (who was braiding her) she got a little scared. I felt bad, but gave her a treat! Haha. Congrats! It looks like the work you've done with her is paying off. She was very well behaved indeed!

Ahaha I figured she'd not know what to do with the doors What a babe. haha! She is used to having a half door and getting to "talk" to all the passer by's...cutie pie! Aly- She has heave like symptoms. Although apparently her breathing was *perfect* while she was at Clovelly, so we're beginning to think there is just something at Rainbow she is allergic too!

Wow, maybe the air is just differnt at Clovelly, I find Clovelly to be damper and lest dusty, and Rainbow to be really dry and really dusty, maybe there was less dust in the air? That's too bad though. Beau has heaves symtpoms, but he doesn't actually have copd, he's actually just allergic to dust in hay and it makes him cough, but he doesn't actually have the heaving.
She really is beautiful!

Well, I've been back for a week now and I've seen Beauty three times. Her breathing is pretty bad and she has lost all her muscle and has gotten rather skinny. We think (with the knowledge of Sandra from Ottawa) that its because she is using all her energy just to breathe, so she is not using any of the nutrients or energy in the food to actually keep weight on or build any muscle.
Last night I went to the barn with some of the girls. We went on a trail ride...I was going to ride Beauty but her breathing was kind of bad so I decided just to walk her instead. She was really well behaved- I was impressed! We had a lot of fun wandering around the savory farm, and when we got back to rainbow her breathing was much better!
I think she enjoyed getting out of the arena, so we'll be spending a lot of time exploring the savory farm with the girls!!!!

Yesterday I went up to the barn and beauty's breathing was PERFECT. She has been on a hay cube lunch, and getting oil in her grain for a week now and the difference is fantastic. She has already put on a few pounds and her breathing is awesome...you can hardly tell she has heaves or allergies at all!
Anyway, all the girls came up around the same time so we groomed and tacked up and headed out on the trail. Beauty was a super star....we rode behind johnny (jess's three year old) and Beauty only got nervous when Johnny panicked- so only two or three times! She was well behaved even when Johnny was backing into her and being scared!
Five of us went out on the trail, and when we got back Mel took some pictures of us on the horses/ponies, together. I'll post them when she emails them to me!!!

well, the last week has been gorgeous and myself and beauty and the girls have been out on the trails a bunch of times. Already we have exceeded last years total number of trail rides - one! haha
I have been mostly hand walking beauty, for a couple of reasons. 1) when its hot out her breathing is really bad and I feel awful making her work too hard, but she always has to go, just to get the gunk off her lungs and 2) we've been having a hard time finding a saddle that fits her!
The old crosby I used to ride in doesnt fit her anymore because of her weight loss, and neither does Jess's lovatt and ricketts. I have Aly's Lancers CC now which is gorgeous but also doesnt fit....I think it will once I get her muscling back up to where it used to be.
Anyway, yesterday after I left the barn, the girls were cleaning up and 'rediscovered' an old stubben saddle. Apparently it fits beauty quite well! So i'll be riding\lunging in that for the next couple of weeks.

Oh right...forgot about this. haha!
So I rode in my gorgeous new lancers CC last week and had a fantastic ride: w/t/c, leg yeilds, circles and even a bit of 'round'.
Today? Not so much
She pulled the bratty hissy fits and lived up to her nickname! Krys can attest to this because she watched my...ten minute ride. haha.
I'm wondering if perhaps 1) my saddle was too far forward? I tacked up ridiculously fast and maybe wasnt paying close enough attention to what I was doing 2) she just genuinely hates the indoor? (I rode inside today and outside last week) and those are what is making her so cranky today.
Anyway, I'm going to hop on tomorrow, hopefully ride outside and see how she does!!!!
Also- today I went to cloverdale tack! I bought her a new yellow cotton lead rope and a slick'n'easy!
