To tell you the truth, you've got quite ALOT of work on your hands. Pacers are built to pace, and now that hes pretty much matured everything in his back is already developed. Its going to be VERY hard to get him out of pacing, he already feels balanced pacing. Lots of trot poles, lotssss. Josie at equine is a half stdb pacer, and sometimes if its muddy she'll pick up a trot... ..but not often.
Another thing that sucks its you can't show a pacer. Well you can if you want to for experience, but you won't pin if that's what you're looking for.

well he hasnt been a pacer all his life. he only started to pace when he was put out with other standardbreds that paced not to long ago so he should be to hard to get out of. plus his only six. lots of time to learn i was actully thinking about doing poles tomorrow anyways with becca since its her day, i want to see her ride him and work with him and see how far he needs to come.

That doesn't make alot of sence...horses don't just 'pick up' pacing. and by poles I mean LOTS, not just 3 or 4, and on a circle preferably.

oh okay, see he is younge and immatates what he sees other horses doing. like yesterday he was in the arena after geting his feet done and he saw checkers roll and did it also. he just copies what he sees.

yeah okay but a horse cant just trot all his life and then go 'hmm he's pacing I can do that too!' just like if you put him out with an icelandic pony, he wouldn't be able to tolt. He might be like prancer though, and switch back and forth from pace to trot.

Ahh pacing is horrible to ride to. I remmeber riding Treasure and it was a pain. She ended up having alot of problems with her stifle because of the pacing. She was quite an unbalanced horse. It just feels so unsecure!
