I've been floating around the idea of having a gymkhana show.. wondering how many people would SERIOUSLY be interested.

I'm thinking of making it more of a fundraiser show for cancer. so proceeds will go towards the canadian cancer society.

Classes would include:

Barrels
Poles
Keyhole
down and back
flag race
newfie bullet
trail
costume
pairs
egg race (spoon and egg)
chug-a-thon (gallop to the end, dismount, chug a bottel of water, mount and run back)
carrot race (only you and a carrot to get your horse over trail obsticles)
team races (obsticle races as a team?)
pick up race
doller bareback

i'm thinking of also making them most walk/trot as well. so the young'ns can partisipate as well

anndd i think that's it.. any other class ideas?
anyone up for it?

there will be a WICKED highpoint prize, & hopefully reserve highpoint as well depending on interest

I would be very interested in this, however I doubt I'd be able to make it this summer unfortunately. Good luck though, it sounds like a great idea!

I looooove Gymkhana's. I am not sure how Conner would react to galloping though haha. His grandaddy is Secretariat the famous racehorse! I would bring Rudy up to do it though!

the dollar bareback is sit a buck I think...you ride with [pretend] paper money under your thigh (bareback of course) and get disqualified if you drop it? Something like that

E-mailed the MBRA (Martime Barrel racing ass) and waiting for a reply from them.

wondering if there would be any interest in starting a chapter of the MBRA here. it would include bigger sponcers for shows, higher level clinicians, bigger jackpots, and the list goes on. anyone be interested in joining?
