The assoc. sounds cool Becca. I wouldnt be participating but I woul support it! It would be a neat way to get new specialized dicipines like Barrel Racing on the go here in NL....yayyy we're growing!

Sarah- yes all appropriate western tack is mandatory (nothing fancy, even just a bridle without nose band (unless its a tie down) and a western saddle. thats the best part of gymkhana, not based on how pretty it is, or what breed, or etc! just to keep everyone updated: Got an E-mail back. said the directors are getting together and going to chat about it they came forward and told me they're not to sure about being on the point system, sense trailoring would be such a big issue to get year end points for the other Provence's (boo on us being geographically challenged) to come in the province and get them (what is it? 800 to get a horse here from NS? ) but they said they are more then happy to help me out and putting together our own ass. for it. So. even though its not the MBRA, if i can get the help we can hopefully put our own provincial ass. like NABA? (north Atlantic barrel racing association?) or NBRA ( newfoundland barrel racing ass?) all names aside, we'll have to hold a meeting for people interested. if i still have the interest, I'm willing to get a place and time to get this up and running before the show season is out. anyone still in?

Hey guys, I'm thinking we can have the first meeting hopefully sometime next week. when is good for everybody? i'll talk to chuck see if we can use the track as a meeting place sence it's pretty nutral teritory, if not cloverdale sound cool to everyone? at the meeting we'll discuss what will happen for shows, clinics hopefully, and get a board formed for the association. One of the things i've been thinking about instead of charging for each class, we can just have a fee for the whole show (lets say.. 30-40ish bucks for now) and can go in as many classes as you want. partical of that fee will be donated to the cancer society, the rest will go towards the 3rd-1st place winners of each class & the highpoint prizes. sound cool? any ideas are more then welcomed
