(sorry I don't know exacty where you live) I live in Central NL. In a town called Botwood, but I ride in Grand Falls. It's about 4 1/2 hour drive from St. John's. Anyone else in my area wanna get tested? Cause I sure do. Maybe i'll mention it to Kathie, and she can mention it to her students, and we could hold it at the Blands. I'm sure Jackie wouldn't mind having the testing done at her barn.

I've got [EDIT 4] people interested so far. I'm still not done asking around, yet haha. I went on that website, and looked at the last sheet (the order form) and I know that's for Ontario residents. Just wondering where I would order them around here, and how much shipping would be, etc. I guess Chris would be the person to ask, eh?

That's great Andrea. Yes, Chris should have the Rider Level manuals or perhaps there are some people around who could sell/lend you theirs. The are generally around $25.

Hi Liz. We will be introducing the English Rider Level Program at Cache Rapids Stable in Deer Lake this summer. For the past 4 years, CR Stable has been focusing on the Western Rider Level Program and have certified approximately 60 western riders at various levels. We have another Western Riding Clinic and testing scheduled for May 19-21 with Sandra Guenther. Up to now, we have not had access to English coaches, which is why the west coast has been primarily western. There is alot of interest in English riding and now with Sasha Hutton living in the area, we have access to some English instruction. Sasha has agreed to teach English lessons here on weekends starting May 27th and we will be having an English schooling show on July 8th following our Western Horse Show/Gymkhana on July 7th. This will give us some idea of who is ready to do the testing so we can schedule it. We have some very good western riders (level 2 and 3) , but I don't know how that will translate into English riding and how many lessons they will need before they are ready for the English testing.

Ruth: I know that with the new 8 level program, most of the girls will be able to get their level 1s after just a few lessons (I would imagine, and with a bit of studying for the written test).
I took weekly lessons for a month or two before doing my level 1 testing (with the old program, this transfers to a level 2 with the new program).
Glad to hear about the schooling show, I was hoping to organize one myself this summer!

Ok, so it looks like a lot of people want to get tested.. hurrah! I have heard from people on the west coast, in central, and out this way. The best way to go about this is try to rally a bunch of people together at your barn or in your area and then let me know who is interested and what levels. From there you we can set up a time and place. Cheers All.
