I dont really like that..
I think it will decrease class sizes alot...i mean...do we REALLY have enough riders for each division to be competitive?

I think the changes they have made to the shows is a great idea. It is going to encourage lesson students as well as people who dont show normally to get involved and show which we need big time here in Newfoundland. It's also an opportunity for people to compete at their correct level instead of someone who is suited for the regular division to be competing against someone suited for the advanced division which I think is unfair and which was sometimes the case with the old system. Think about the shows which are on the mainland who have their shows for one discipline, ie hunter or dressage, etc.. In these shows the divisions are based on the skill level of the rider which is how the new system has been designed. Its a positive move forward for showing in NL. This is the first year for it and its a change but like all new things it will take some getting used to. Was everyone happy with the old system of showing? As for green horses, that's what the regular devision is for. There's a class for every combination of horse/rider. Also, theres the Open Novice Walk/Trot Equitation which is available for riders of all ages so this prevents the regular division from having short stirrup people competing in it. And the classes will not be any smaller. Remember, there was a pony division in the old system, now the ponies and the horses compete together which I think is a great idea. It also makes it available for seniors to ride ponies in shows! The class sizes will be pretty much the same. So i think its great! That's my opinion on the matter!

I love the fact that we can show horses or ponies and not have to compete against our coaches or the more experienced riders. Plus there are way more options in terms of green rider or green horse
I'm with Jenn- I like the new system a lot. Much closer to the mainland system and so many more options available to all types of riders.

I enjoy these new rules. There are some people that just started riding at barns that are senior and thats not exactly fair for them to be riding against like Pro riders.
