With a heavy heart I am putting my beloved horse, Darby, up for sale. Two horses is too much for me to fully take on at this time in my life, and Darby is a horse that loves to work. He is also much more of a western horse, and I would prefer to ride English. Darby is an Arab X QH, 14.2 (and a half)hh, 10 years old, and chestnut in color with a white blaze. He has an excellent personality with exceptional ground manners. Darby is sweet, friendly, fantastically gentle, soft on the hands and quick to learn. He is also super easy off the leg, and highly sensitive to his rider, he can do almost all basic transitions from seat aids alone. He loads like a pro, stands great for the farrier, has been barefoot for over 6 years with solid healthy feet. Darby has a solid w/t, wonderfully comfortable canter (needs work on the right lead), fabulous on the lunge line, very responsive to vocal commands, will go english or western but I feel he would be a better western horse. He does need an intermediate rider who can lead him rather than force. He greatly prefers a female rider/handler, not to say he wouldn't accept a male rider it would just take more time. Darby is a horse that needs one on one time before he can preform at his best, but once he does have that time he will do EVERYTHING he can/knows to please his person. He is an UTD on deworming, shots, teeth and feet. I also have the xrays from his pre-purchase exam (with me) available for the purchaser, they were done May 2012. $4000 (including heavy weight blanket and rainsheet) also available for lease (must stay at Rainbow for lease)
