Seems like it's a bit slow lately on the forum! Since school is out and summer is finally here, here's something to do with your time!
A while ago when I moved up to Fraser Eq. Center, one of the boarders thought it would be cute to write biographies for our horses. After a couple nights, I came up with this one for Connor. It sounds better when I read it out loud, so I can add the tone, but hopefully you can read it yourself with a bit of humor! I think it would be cute if people posted what they think their horse would say in their biographies!
"Yo dudes and dudettes! The Con man has entered the barn, so lock up all your fillies. I’ll apologize now, the mares (and some of the geldings too) just can’t stay away. It’s really not my fault. I may be only 16.2, but my heart and personality is much bigger than my size. I guess you could say I’m one of the newer ones here at FEC, however I was born and bred in NS before moving to the rock-aka NL. My dad lived here though; Cvcark and I hear he was quite the ladies man, so that’s probably where I get it from. I have a few older half siblings here as well, they are quite far ahead in their dressage training and that gives my owner hope for me. Ah, my little sweet owner, Maria. That little chick and I have what you guys call a “love hate relationship”. I love her when she feeds me, and..well…not so much when I have to work.
Since moving to NS in September I have been pushed to the limit! At the beginning I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be a dressage horse, or more of a stunt one. I got the “high ho silver part” or the rearing black stallion down to a tee. I just wanted to look impressive! Maria and this new lady who makes me do hard stuff put this thing on me to make me stop-I say EXTRA CHALLENGE! Don’t worry mares, it did nothing, I am still pro. Nothing can bring me down. Literally. However I am now very muscled and toned and do not need to rear anymore to look impressive. I hear the fillies like the muscles so I have started that and it seemed to get me the good attention, so that is defiantly a bonus. I do notice that when I’m ridden while my owner is being talked to (and sometimes yelled at) it seems to make my life a lot harder…as opposed to those free rides where I get to listen to Ke$ha, I LOOOOOOVE listening to her. She is super cool, usually Maria lets me pick the music we listen to and I love showing off what I can do to her music. But that’s another story.
Moving from NL to NS was a pretty big change of lifestyle. My old owner, Sue and my human grandma and grandpa were very sad to see me leave when they loaded me on that trailer. I didn’t mind too much though, I knew I was on my way to see my girl, and I’ll admit I was pretty happy to see her after a full weekend of traveling. She and I have settled into FEC lifestyle together, and I am the leader of my herd out in the field. No surprise there really. Falcon adores me and Essex worships the ground I walk on. They all want to be the bad boy I am. And don’t even get my started on that Abby, that little babe. She totally wants me. But I can’t commit myself; I am truly my father’s son. Falcon and I have a game called halters, where I remove his halter in a perfect way so that it doesn’t get broken. It’s so much fun, and I get it off every day! However, then he started coming out without his halter! I was like, WHAT?!?! Apparently the human chicks who feed us and stuff think that MY amusement is less important than THEM trying to find missing halters. They really don’t understand the pecking line here….. Anyway me, being the cool guy I am, decided to help them out a little. It obviously worked, because as soon as I started swinging that muddy halter around my head, Aunt Jess came out with a treat for me! I have them trained so well. My Youtube stardom is well on its way to millions of vies, I’m sure.
Overall, I pretty much have the life. Get to eat, sleep, work out with my girl, run around and play, remove halters, find halters, smack Falcon in the face with halters…well, you get the picture. Yes, it has defiantly been a roller coaster, but I really wouldn’t have it any other way.
Peace out dudes, Connor (aka-the cool one, with all the fillies)"
