I got code blue (prince's old show name) on my wrist and am getting C.F.V soon.. Not sure where yet. I was going to get cowboys first venture up my leg but I rather not deal with all the questions asked.. Haha.
I suggest thinking about it and once your set on the idea wait 6 months - year before getting it just to make sure it's what you want. Atleast that's what I did and I have zero regrets.

Those line drawings are beautiful, I have one by the same lady, two horses with their necks intertwined, between my shoulders and I love it. Really simple, tough to mess up, and mine is a little more abstract than some of her other drawings so people don't always "get" what it is at first glance and have to look a little harder to see the outlines. I like that.
With that said, how old are you? I'm not about to give you crap, I was 18 or 19 when I got my first tattoo, I've gotten another since then and have several more in the works that I will be getting when I can afford it. However, they're things that have a great deal of personal meaning to me and that I considered for at least a year or more before I finally got them to be SURE that's what I wanted.
There are a lot of things to take into consideration - first, and obviously most important, is the design itself and being sure you want it to be on your body permanently. Another is placement. I'd love to have a full sleeve, and my current employer is very lax about body mods - many people with visible forearm/wrist tattoos, multiple facial piercings, etc. and it's a non-issue. However it's most definitely not my career, and so for the time being I'm going to keep getting them in places that I can easily cover if necessary.
Also, please please PLEASE do your research and invest the time and money into going to a reputable shop. I've been to Trouble Bound and don't think I would ever go anywhere else - not saying that they're the only good spot around but I looked at all their artists portfolios, talked to people who had gotten work done there that I knew, as well as talked to them. They are very clean, professional and excellent to deal with. They won't tattoo anyone under 18 and honestly that's another reason WHY I went there - they take their work very seriously and are all about giving you something that you're going to love and something that's quality.

I'm actually a little wary about the tattoo shops here. My tattoos were done quite a few years ago. The guy that did mine retired, and there were no shops besides Black Rose (blah!) that were around. All of a sudden there were several shops that opened, and there wasn't much talent. IT seems to be getting better.
I've looked at the portfolios online of the local artists and some of them are good. Most are medicore. Jess has a nice one of the horses. But most have gross lines, and the color shading is not that great. That's JMO.
For me, I'd love to get a few more. We are heading to Montreal again this summer so I think we'll make a stop at a tattoo place there. I'm still not comfortable with the shops here.

I swear by Trouble Bound. I actually had my horse tattoo done in Winnipeg, but my rib piece was done at TB. All of their employees have impeccable customer service and amazing portfolios. I find Alicia does amazing shading, if that's what you're looking for. They all do very detailed work. I find you can't base their work on what people show you, as sometimes a tattoo can just be bad to begin with. But when they do get something amazing to work with, then it can blow your mind. That's why it takes a few months to get an appointment there.

I'm 17, and I now about the whole 'scratcher' deal, as most people call it. I was hoping to get trouble bound to do it, once I've put thaught into it, I've heard alot of good about them and a lot of people out my way are those cheap, 'artists' who can't draw for crap. One kf the shops out here does a horrible job also, anyone else have any suggestions of shops, I'm willing to go to town, for the sake of a decent job. Id freak if someone where to do a big time mess up. Horses are a big part of my life, sox is my first horse, and me and him have basically been through hell and back ever since i got him, he's fine now, and will be with me until he's gone, I don't think id trusqt anyone else to give him proper care. Not wprth the risk. Which is why I'd like a horse related tattoo. Excuse my spelling, proboards keeps glitching out on my phone when i type
