So many keyboard warriors!
What do you people want to know exactly? What your membership pays for?
Taken right off the website...
Benefits of Membership Our Insurance program is the best in the country, you are covered for $5,000,000 personal liability this coverage will protect you against lawsuits for bodily injury or property damage arising out of the ownership and/or leasing of horses. This will act as primary coverage in the event that no other insurance is in force. You are also covered for a $25,000 Accidental Death & Dismemberment this provides some financial relief should an accident happen to you while involved in an activity involving horses. A fracture benefit is also included. They are both in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, WORLDWIDE, for any horse related activity. Not only that, but you get discounts on all your other insurance needs through Classic Equine Insurance By belonging to the Newfoundland Equestrian Association, you can access Sport Newfoundland Grants such as Scholarships, Championship Hosting Grants, Athlete Assistance, Coaching and Officials Updating and Certification. Through our association with Classic Equine Insurance, Scholarships for post-secondary studies are available to interested members. Access to Reduced Subscription rates for Atlantic Horse and Pony Magazine ($15.00), Atlantic Canada's most popular magazine for Equine lovers All NEA members are automatically members of Equine Canada and add their voice to a Canada wide group of over 100,000 horse enthusiasts supporting the interests of horse sport, recreation and industry. With this affiliation, members are able to take part in EC sanctioned programs and events; ie. EC Learn to Ride Programs, EC Coaching Programs, and Horse Week. Access to provincial programs such as Provincial Primary Competition Circuit and Year End AwardsAccess to NCCP Theory Courses Access to NCCP Theory Courses Access to special events - movie nights, educational presentations, video club, etc.
And Steph-what kind of things would you like to see for "non show people". The NEA isnt a horse club. It is the competition organization for the province and is also responsible for the coaching side of things. If you wanna go on a trail ride with your friends, you dont need the NEA's approval...

I would like a mod to clean this up, the point of this thread was to post news about nea related activities. If you have concerns or questions that you would like addressed please go to www.equestriannl.ca and email the general email or a specific board member and they will be happy to address your concerns. As for reaching our recreational riders before paper and exam time came I was working on a questionnaire to try and understand the needs and wants for these members. If you have any ideas for how we can reach the recreational rider please visit our website and send an email with your ideas. Instead of generating controversy think of positive ways to better the nea, we are always looking for new ideas and would like to be able to better reach our members and to satisfy their needs. Again please address any concerns directly to the nea as this thread was simply created to better reach a broader range of members with important news from the nea. Thanks!

Ashley, there's a ribbon for reserve champion. I received the two ribbons I was missing back around the end of April (can't remember exactly when, they went to my address in NL before making their way to me in NS)
