Jack arrived in Lloydminster last night at 10pm. He made the trip without incident from NS-AB. Haulers said they wished every horse kept their stall as clean as he did and that they never called him "Jack" just "Newf" haha.
Since he left NS he had an 8x8 box stall for the entire trip across so he could move about freely which I think helped.
As soon as they opened the trailer door I cried like a little school girl (so to speak). He just stood there ever so calm, taking in all the new smells - Then I whistled! (We had a special sync of whistles back home which I'd call him in to me with) HE REMEMBERED IT! Wanted to unload himself when I did that. He didn't take his eyes off me after that. I was blown away he remembered and that he focused in on me even with all the new things around The barn owner has his reaction on camera, I'll load the video once photobucket or facebook lets me.
He got off the trailer like a pro, lead calmly down the yard and into his new paddock. Once I let him go he trotted around smelling the ground and snorting with his tail right up. He looked great haha
He went right to the dead winter grass instead of his nice square bales Thats a good ol' NL pony for you. He got along with his two new pasture buddies over the fence right away, no kicking, no squealing, etc.
Long story short - my bay fuzz made it safe and sound!!!!
I recommend Keyhole Ranch or Foothills Ranch to anyone looking to haul a horse!
