Brittany has been riding Zoey every day for the last 10 days and Chelsey and I have been riding Queenie as well. We can't wait for the snow to go so we can start schooling the horses in the arena and bring some more horses back from Goose Arm.

I cant wait for the arena to clear out and the sun to shine! Duff and I have been making the odd forray into the parking lot, which actually has lovely footing these days, but these adventures are few and far between.

ETA: bahahaha I guess I was still on Julia's account. WHOOPS! From Krys: Our snow has been gone roughly almost a month now! That being said the weather hasn't been the greatest the past two weeks but since we have an indoor, Czar is in fantastic shape. Now if only I were too! We're back to schooling around 3' sometimes a little lower, sometimes a little higher. We have a clinic next Friday

I'm actually looking forward to working my guys this summer. Rodeo is in stallion mode right now, so I'm going to take the opportunity to work with him on keeping his attention and remembering those ground manners. It doesn't help that the mares are teasing him lol.
Cooter will be backed this spring, possibly this weekend if all goes well. He's come far enough along that I can handle and correct him without him making an issue of it, so its time for him to get to work (and me too!)
Teddy will just be ridden regularly by myself and Mikayla. He babysits her and she adores him, so I'm hoping to get them in a show or two this summer.
And while Spartan won't be ridden, he'll be doing alot of groundwork this summer.

Even though I've been blessed with an indoor to school all year, I've been riding outside these past few days. Connor loves being outside, and it's defiantly nice to get out. We've been riding in the dressage ring and he's so much happier. Plus I can't wait to play around with some jumps in the big outdoor!

I'm proud to announce I took the first jumps outside yesterday!!! After a few crazy wheeeeeee moments after our first few jumps, Connor settled and we played with both a X-rail and a plank Granted, the fact that he was in all day, and gobbled an ENTIRE mint likit could have also had something to do with the excitement lol! Loves me some jumping outdoors!

We are trying to work with the younger horses to get them used to following each other for the trail rides and to expose them to all the spooky things out there. There is still snow in the arena, so we have been riding on the side of the road through Reidville. Brittany has been riding Zoey almost every day for the past month, Kanika has been out twice - once with me riding and once with Becky, Queenie has been out several times with Chelsey, Jenna and myself riding, Cree has been out twice with Janice riding. Yogi is the old pro, so everyone rides him. He is slow walking so is not the best for a lead horse, but takes over lead when there is a scary garbage bag, flag or spooky guard rail. We will bring some more horses home from our other farm to work with in a week or so, when we get back from Nova Scotia with Kevin's new horse, Partner. Hopefully, the snow will be gone from the arenas and round pens by then.
