never thought i would start one of these for my own..maybe as a horse i was leasing but not my own horse

anywho
lily has been here for a good 5 days now , and shes settling in great , everytime i see her pretty face i love her more
i haven't rode her yet as the ground hasn't been the greatest (frozen/icy) so i'm gonna have to wait , not too long hopefully !
well some of the things we have done aree:
lunged (did lovely )
and were working on ground work as hers isn't the greatest , but shes doing lovely ! i can't get over how fast shes learning
she picks her feet up no probbs , she did before but shes better at it now
she dont mind being brushed anywhere at all , tail braiding , leg brushing , anything , she couldn't care less !
she loves attention and is really social , i open the door and she comes over easy enough to catch anyways lol
we are also working on turning her away and towards in the barn and respecting people's space ,
she used to come out her door without being told or asked from never being taught before but now she won't even try , if she takes a step out and i say "don't" she puts her foot back in her stall or back in the paddock !
she's starting to wait patiently better too , everytime i take her out or do anything with her i make her wait and stand still / straight , she don't mind at all !
she loves her attention and shes a very happy horse...ears always forward , haven't even seen her pin them yet (knock on wood) and shes friendly to other horses as well !

thats all for now i suppose , can't think of much else to type other then shes settling in very well and thursday will be a week !
she loves being praised as well , like when she does something good and you pet her and say good girl or something she loves it and learns "oh if i do that , i get petted" lol

rode lily again friday !
second time riding her ! she was great ! still juss trotting..no pictures of friday tho ! but there are pictures of my first ride on fb !
shes such a sweetheart and it has been a little over 2 weeks since she got here and shes settled in great ! shes starting to like bread now lol , not very many treats she likes but oh well hahah x)
got her feet trimmed yesterday by Mike ! who did a fab job . she was so well behaved too ..i held her and she tried to look at him a couple times but nothing big , she juss wanted to see what was going on but she stood there quiet as anything juss chilled and relaxed
i had hoped to ride her again today and have a lesson but the ground wasn't so good so we didn't go up , but hopefully soon !

ya its really annoying, ahaha she still doesn't like anything but bread and grain, which doesn't really count ;s hahaha x)


well i'll update you guys a bit considering i haven't in awhile...
shes getting much better at her ground manners, she leads a lot better, crossties are no problem for her, and her feet aren't a sitch anymore thank god
dennis lunged her the other day, and she was lovely , gonna go up the weekend and lunge, and tie and alll that fun stuff haha, can't wait for the weekend so i can start gettin serious with her training now that skiing and basketball is done for the year.
shes the easiest horse i've ever had to catch, if i go up in the field and she sees the halter clearly, and even if she is walking to the back of the pin (which is pretty big) i'll call her name, she'll turn around, and walk back to me, so i just have to duck under neath the fence, which is awesome hahah x)
all in all, shes completely settled in, shes starting to pick up for herself with the other horses, and shes learning more and more all the time

Had my first lesson of the year Saturday (yesterday) and it was lovely !
It went really well! We lunged for 25 minutes or so at the beginning, and then I rode for a half hour? Maybe? Haha, not sure how long, but the lesson went great ! Really happy with my girl, I never got any video of the lunging (mom didn't take any, haha, oh well) but I did get some video of my lesson, here is the link..

Rode Lily again today !
Lunged for 25 minutes or so, and man has she improved, I'd have to give a big thanks to Ashley for lunging her a couple times this week when I couldn't get up!!
But shes improved a huge amount! She listen's to cues better, she canters better lunging...everything is just better, and I'm just so pleased .
Then I rode for 15-20 minutes, as she was being sooo good, and the flies were starting to get bad, so both me and her were getting irritated, and she was doing wonderful! I couldn't have asked for anything better ! She was circling where I asked, she never once slammed on the breaks for no reason, she didn't care about passing the other horses, she just kept going like she should, and she could do a full ring with no problem !
All in all, I'm suuuuper pleased with Lily today. So much improvement in so little time .
And I have a lesson tomorrow!

I had a lesson today, and it went just lovely !!
So happy with my girl <3
We were doin 4 1/2 trot poles like it was nothing, and she's never been made to do that in a while if ever...she was behaved so well, on the ground and undersaddle.
Her lunging has come a long way, and so has her ground manners, her undersaddle has as well .
Couldn't say anything bad about my lesson today besides the fact were both "muscleless" hahahahah!! So were both regaining our muscles together, I'm gonna be stiff tomorrow for sure, x)

Well all in all it was a lovely lesson, and I'm super pleased with Lily...
Another lesson on Tuesday, can't wait!

Well I went up to the barn Saturday, Sunday, and today Monday, and all 3 days Lily was a rockstar, esp. today

Saturday, I lunged for 25 minutes(maybe?) and then I rode for 30 mins(maybe) and she can go so much longer and better then she could before and shes just coming along so well we did trot poles, except we added a little bit instead of just having 4 1/2 so she would actually stretch and extend, cause 4 1/2 is just too easy for her, lol.
Sunday, I only lunged cause it was suuuuuper hot, and I was really tired from the week and the day before (I'm getting muscles too, not just Lily ) so I lunged for 30-35 mins(maybe?) cause I knew I wasn't riding so I lunged for a bit longer...She can canter longer and she can stay in the smaller lunging circle, and her muscle and stamina and everything overall is just coming along so well .
Today, was the best ride I've ever had on her so far, I only had to lunge for 15 mins cause she was being so good, so I decided, if shes behaving well, I might as well show her good behavior comes with good rewards, so I didn't lunge as long, and rode longer. I rode for 45 mins? and she was a rockstar the whole time, I couldn't have asked anything more from her, she was doing her 10m circles like there was nothing to them, and I barely EVER had to use the open rein, and shes learning what the outside rein means, and leg yielding, I think I used the open rein twice going to her left (shes a bit sticky circling to her left) but that was it! She was soo good! And we were doing the excercise were you take half the ring and just get a smaller and smaller circle and get them bending and slowing down, and she was doing it so well for her first time I'm so happy with her today ! And she got to use her new fly sheet today too
